i'd like to get this straightened up, since im constantly hearing opposing opinions on this.....does the stock hood fit w/out modifications with the bb stock ic???

I believe it does. I know it does on a 200sx. I would put a small scoop/vent on it anyway to make it more effective. With not scoope i think they are something like 10 percent effective. Not good.

Why not front mount it? Wouldn't be very hard.

It also fits on an nx2000. And if you top mount it, I highly recommend you to use a scoop.

Yes, Yes, Yes, a BlueBird sr20det will fit right into a 200sx or Sentra 95-99 with the Stock top mount IC without modifications

well my specific application is a classic, what bout it?? if not, is there a possible temporary solution, so i could get it from shop class to a place that could install a fmic kit? btw, any companies that sell fmic kits that would be good for bb needs?

I would say it does because I know somebody (suckit) that had a GTi-R motor with the top mount under his hood.. and that is a bigger IC... and he didn't have a hood scoop either

There's no way in hell the gti-r intercooler is going to fit under the hood of a classic without cutting. Believe me...i have this setup and it DIDN'T work!
As for getting from the shop to a place that could install...get yourself some flexable exhaust tubing or something that will bend. Don't try to run this setup for long thought or it will explode!

and as for a temp solution i was thinking for along of the lines of like just doing something to force the hood shut over the stock ic for long enuf to get to a shop

Hotshot sells a BB kit that includes FMIC, all the piping, couplers, etc., and a 3" downpipe, all ceramic coated. If you need a temp. solution to get the car somewhere, just drive around without the hood! thats a lot easier than trying to force it shut :)
