Tystyx49 had a simmilar problem and it turned out that there was a spacer inbetween the flywheet and it's bolts that wore down the springs until one fell out and left him stranded.

Looks like the spring fell out of the disk , I see it all the time .... replace the clutch and your done ..... If this is a clutch you just put in , make sure you put the dick in the correct way ... flat side twards engine and raised side twards trans. .....

I dont know of any spacers on the SR flywheels ......At least with the 1000's of clutches I have done on these I have never seen a spacer ....

yeah thanks shawn, i had no idea what he was talking about with teh spacers...now here's another question. when your doing a clutch...there are two bolts on the top of the trans to mount to engine. then there's an accessory bolt or something like that. there's a bracket that holds 2 copper pipes it seems that is in the way of the second trans bolt. is this bracket supposed to be between the engine and trans?? is there supposed to be any tabs at all or do i have to back this thing out again and get it under the bracket. i could sandwich the tab between the engine and trans but i dont' want to

Slightly off topic...but what do the clutch disc springs actually do??

Lessen the harshness of the engaging of the clutch.

The bracket should NOT be between the engine and trans , it should be between the bolt and trans. ..... The trans bolt should hold that braket on , then once the trans bolt is out the bracket will hang free , I zip tie it out of the way ....sounds like the last clutch it had they didnt do it right and got it stuck between the trans and engine ...

Neither had I until I took of his trans with him. The bolts were visually worn and so was the disk in a perfect circle......right where the flywheel bolts went.
