I'm swapping out my tired highport out of a 91 SE-R and dropping in a UK lowport longblock I got a killer deal on. However, the lowport is missing a couple of important pieces.
I need to know if the following are the same across highport and lowport engines:
1) thermostat housing & water pipes that run behind the engine - the highport has a thermostat housing with two black water pipes that run behind the engine, the larger one goes to the water pump inlet, and the smaller looks like is attaches to the cylinder head. How is this done on lowports? The lowport cylinder head has no opening for a second water pipe.
2) oil filter bracket - the lowport longblock does not have the oil filter bracket, so I am assuming I could use the one from the highport engine. True?
3) IACV - are these the same for highport & lowport intake manifolds? The opening on the lowport manifold looks the same as the highport, but just wanted to make sure.
If anyone has an FSM drawing or similar that can show me the interested areas on a lowport, that would be great also.
Thanks!
