I was buying motor oil at my local auto parts store and I came across some Nos Octane Booster I bought because it raises the octane level 7 points. But Im a little weary bout putting it in *** Ive never put that much juice in my fuel tank is it gonna hurt my engine or will it just run smoother

Octane rating is just resistance to detonation. It won't hurt anything to put that in there, but it won't do you any good, either. IMHO, save your money, unless you really like the way the bottle looks.

that shit is lame. yes it will raise your octane, but it depends on what kind of gas you have in your tank now. when they say it raises octane 7 pionts, they're using regular 87 gas. if you were to use 91 or 92, expect 1-2 point increase. i used it at the track using 91 octane gas and didn't notice a difference in times.

you can mount the little bottle and tell everybody you have "mini NOS" kinda like the "mini turbo" overdrive button!

Call me crazy, but when I dump this stuff in I swear I feel a little more umph, maybe 1-2 whp? Maybe I just think I do and it is
'virtual hp' heh. Would living at 5300 feet above sea level make the oct boost more noticable?

Octane boost will not do anything for your eninge or power unless you are having problems with detonation. If anything, you'll loose a little power as the higher the octane rating, the harder it is to get the mixture to burn. Unless you have higher compression, advanced timing, or you're boosting or on NOS, you don't need to stabilize your combustion.

In other words, you are wasting your money.

I have some stuff in the garage from CRC called "Legal 4 Racing", and it proudly claims it can up the octane up to 7.3 points, increases horsepower, and is the maximum allowable chemistry (that sound like something I need - the maximum allowed chemistry!). It comes with free body tattoos, a window sticker, and special Legal 4 Racing Race-Wear offers in addition to all the power is delivers. On the back, it says it's for off road use only and in big yellow letters "PRODUCT NOT INTENDED FOR USE IN ANY SANCTIONED RACING EVENTS". I still need to call the 800 number and ask them how can is be Legal 4 Racing, yet it's not intended for any sanctioned racing event in my best redneck accent.
