Ok guys i just got done installing my gt2835 and retired the t-28.
This install was fairly easy with exception of wastegate fittment and stainless oil feed line leaking. But it all together and iam pleased. Took it out for a test drive on the hwy at 4am . In comparision to t-28 the power ban is much flatter, which is prolly due to the full ball bearing centersection. The turbo spools for about 30 seconds after turning the car off . On my test run i got so excited with the performance i ended up redlining in 5th gear.
On the gt2835 that i have 50a/r comp and 64 a/r turbine @10 psi it feels like 15psi on the t-28. Also to add i put Royal Purple Ice and my water tempt dropped dramatically over redline water wetter about 10 degress over water wetter.

Are you using the GTi-R manifold?

Can you post the Garrett part number for the turbo you are using? It should be on the center housing, on the Garrett name plate. It will have the form 701725-0001 or something like that (that's not the right number, I just made it up).

Did you replace the GTi-R turbo with this turbo, or were you using some other T-28 (like a Silvia turbo)?

Awesome to hear some good news from a NorCal SE-R!

You should test it out at the track this weekend! We should be out there crewing for the first 12 second run on a 50 shot.

So, uhhhh....is the T28 for sale?? :D

I already installed the turbo. i forgot to write the part#s down.
Its a 50 a/r comp and 64a/r turbine housing. the turbine wheel appears to be noticably larger as the comp wheel as well in comparision to the t-28 from gti-r. The inlet in the turbo is 2.75inch in diameter. By the sizing of the inlet in comparision to the gt2835r i would believe this is a turbo more for everyday use rather than racing. But this thing gets full boost by 3500rpms. Its being used with a gti-r manfold which has been lightly ported at the begining of each runner . I only went about two inches into each runner to remove casting bumps and the manifold outlet that connects to turbo as well. Well if i have issue and i have to pull the turbo off i will write the numbers down.

Doesn't the GTi-R turbo hit full boost by about 3500?

wel my turbo hit full boost between 3500-4k and that was due to the 2.5 inch IC piping and griffin IC 24x14x2.75 i think thats the dimensions (one from RRE). I stand corrected tonight after correcting some oil feed issue (damn T broke in block). I payed more attention to the boost . The power is flatter and doest kick in like the t-28 does in the mid rpm range. from what i observed it looks like around 2500 rpms-3000rpms ,it doesnt feel like it though because the powers is so linear throughout than what iam used to.
