: Where do bumpstops go?

I keep hearing this term thrown around but have no idea where in the suspension they fit. Are they part of the upper strut mounts or what? I can't seem to find them on any exploded drawing. Help me out here...

TIA

they go on the rod in the strut housing so it keeps the strut from hitting the strut mount. I cannot really remember what anything is called right now but i know someone will give you more explicit details than I. I am just getting the ball of knowledge rolling.:D

They are rubber or plastic pieces that go on the strut rod like was said. You have lowering springs, so the bump stops should have been trimmed a bit.

Stine call up Motivational Eng and buy the Koni polly ones they are already shorter and if you do bottom out they are spongy, you wont notice as much

Here's a copy of a post I made a little while ago, follow the link for a picture.

http://www.truechoice.com/ Has what you need, but the little bastards aren't cheap, and you need 4 of each. The plastic packers will protect the bumpstops from being damaged when the top of the strut body impacts them. You will need to ream out the center of the plastic packer, a Dremel with a sanding drum will make quick work of it. By the way, Truechoice was awesome, I had the parts in 2 or 3 days.

So basically, these don't have an equivalent in the stock suspension?

Sure does, they're inside the boots (accordion looking black rubber covers that go over the shocks), at the top.

do the plastic packers go above or underneath the bump stop
