I am thinking of getting some cams. I want to know wich cams are better for all motor. Also I want to know if the car will run well without a JWT ECU. :D

Well I've read a lot of old post from Andreas Miko and from that here's what I learned.

The S4's are the better of the two for all motor. You could use the S4's with a turbo but it would have to be a larger one than the S3.


This is how I remember it going...

Example: S3 good with T28, T25

Example: S4 good with T3 and larger.

edit: overlooked your second Q. I know people here have run the S3's without the jwt ecu and they said it was okay but, cold morning start ups were harder. Also the idle would not be as smooth and your gas millage would also suffer. Don't forget eother that the jwt ecu would raise your rev limiter.

Got a '91 Primera cam lying around in the garage. Would these work better than stock and without a reprogrammed ECU?

I ran the S4 cams with a stock ecu fo rabout a month, idle was choppy as hell, it died on me at a couple of stop lights. I wouldnt recommend the S4 cam with the ecu upgrade in the future.

OR, if you want the all motor madness, drop some C series cams in there. Pretty costly but man the gains are insane.
