Well we did it... Me and a friend(Joe D) just bought a 91 se-r! I haven't had a chance to really push it yet, but it seem really cool.

The only things wrong with it that I can tell, is it needs a new rear wheel bearing, and one of the cv boots is riped. Other than that, its perfect.

I'm excited. I can't wait to get it to the track. The first mod we're looking at is dumping the allseasons, and getting new summer tires for it. There doesn't seem to be anything in 14'' though, so we may be upgrading to a 15'' wheel too.

Any advise, or things we should know about the car?
Also, is there anywhere that sells just the wheel bearing by itself?

Oh yeah. We have a few things for sale in the forsale forum

The main thing that I'm thinking of is the fifth gear popout problem.

Thanks man. We checked and there's no 5th gear pop out. :D

Like JonD said, the front driver side cv boot is torn. We're looking to replace the whole axle with a Raxel axel. Has anybody had any experience with that company? Any reliability issues??

We are also selling the stock wheels and the stromung exhaust....all of which are in excellent condition.

The car was owned by an SE-R lover and is in very good mechaincal shape. Basically we're both really stoked and can't wait to start auto-xing next weekend.

Again, any advice or newbie tips you guys might have for us would be great! Thanks!!!

If you need o new home for the passenger side CV axle LMK. I need just the outside CV boot repaired, but it's easier to just replace the whole axle. Thanks.

Ahh... I didn't realize Falkins came in 14''. That might be the best bet if we cant sell the stock wheels.

We were kinda thinking about just getting one of the generic CV boot repair kits to hold us over for this year until we get more cash. Its not making noise yet, but its riped bad.
Where in Va are you?

you might want to drive http://www.driveshaftshop.com/ for a rebuilt axle. They use a stronger material for the boot which you can feel the difference between a stock one and theirs. It is a common problem to rip them in our cars. It cost $75 for the rebuilt axle. I am glad you chose the se-r.

BTW I also think the sell the rebuilt kit that is the stronger material than stock. IIRC it costs about $15

sr20deMike: Thanks for the info. we'll check into that site and the rebuild kit. Sounds like the better way to go.
