: Should I use oil restrictor?

I have t3/t04e. Do I have to install an oil restrictor on my setup? I have a stainless steel line going to my turbo oil feed port using -3 fitting. I don't think I do...but just need to make sure. Thanks.

Also, I want to use a stainless steel line to hook up my oil pressure gauge to the nissport oil adaptor. Can I get the ss line and 1/8th NPT fittings, to connect the nissport adaptor/ss line/autometer gauge, at any hardware store or do I need to special order them from somewhere?

If you use a -3 line you don't need a restrictor. If you use a -4 line you need a restrictor.

what turbo are you using?

if i were you, and this is just my personal preference, i'd save the money on fittings and ss line to run to your gauge, and just get an electronic gauge, so u just thread the sensor into the adatper, than just run normal wire to the gauge. Much simpler and cheaper

I want to get this thing up and running...I like the mechanical gauge's 270 degree sweep so I want to keep it and use it. Anyone know the THICKNESS of the stainless steel line I should get or are they all the same thickness...the nylon line that comes with the gauge is pretty thin that is why I am asking??? Thanks.

Like Manny said, if you use a -3AN line it's inner diameter will work as a restrictor. All -3AN stainless braided lines are the same size (3/16"... that's what the "3" in -3AN stands for, IIRC).

thickness for the gauge or the turbo oil feed?

You want to run a restrictor regardless. They're only like $5-10 anyway, why would you not put it on?

You can run whatever line you want to the oil pressure guage, as long as it's tough like stainless lines, etc. I wouldn't get hardware store lines because most aren't meant for these temps. You can easily order them from Summitracing.com if you can't find something local.

Thanks a bunch...you all answered my questions. Another check in my list of unknowns.

The gauge...and according to Rockwood it doesn't quite matter. I will be sure to get an ss line from summit.

Yeah...sorry it sounds like I was asking the same question again...but I wanted to know the thickness of the ss line for my gauge. And now I know. Thanks again.
