Ok well my car just had the check engine light come on, I ran the self diagnosis and it was a code 32 EGR not working. Dumb question but will this hurt my car and can I drive it for a little while with this messed up? I know that my idle has been acting a bit funny, but I thought that's about all that it would effect. Advice?

I thought there was a recall for certain B14 SR20DEs regarding the EGR tube. Seems like something about the size of the original tube set off the MIL. I think they replaced the tube with an updated part.
Hmmm. Can anyone confirm this? I reset the code. And now another light came up. I assume it's the same but I'll check it tomorrow just to be safe. The car runs like a champ. It seems maybe that the NOS is setting it off?

PROBLEM: You get a check Engine Light.
Affects: 200SX SE-R 5speeds only
You get a check engine light on the 200SX SE-R 5speed that doesn't go away. Checking the error code reveals that the EGR-BPT (backpressure valve) failed (Code 36). Replacing the EGT-BPT doesn't make it go away.
Have the EGR tube replaced. The original EGR tube diameter was 10mm letting too much EGR in, setting off the check engine light. Nissan changed the tube to 8mm which seems to resolve this problem.

Guess its not the same thing. But it shouldn't be a problem to drive with the egr malfunction. In fact, I have the egr disconnected on my 91 to help keep the TB clean. It is also supposed to give better throttle response but its not something I can notice.
Thanks for the info. I plan on running it without for about a week or so. I just get cautious when the check engine light is on.

When I fist got my SE-R that code popped up. I drove on it for about a week or two with any problems.
