Personally I believe you should look for a car with the SR20DE motor before considering the Spec-V with the QR25DE. You may have some decent torque with the QR but it rolls off quickly and there is no horsepower up top.

Get yoursellf a used 200SX or Sentra SE-R. I haven't followed the Spec-V too closely, but I think the new regular 2.0 SE-R may feature the allmighty SR20DE. Get it instead of the Spec-V and you'll have a better platform to build on.

The way i feel is, get it because nissan didnthave to bring it back for us. we have to keep the vibe alive and hopefully encourage nissan to bring out even faster se-r's...who knows the 2005 may have a sr20ve (just wishfull dreaming, and graduation gift :D) but if i could afford it at this point in my life i would get one just to represent our community.

You almost have to get the spec v now to go along with your screen name and all.

I personally like the new se-r but that only thing that gets me is 4 doors. God I hate 4 door cars but thats the a personal opion. Whatever you do, just make sure that you get something you like because after all. You will be the one driving it. :)

My se-r is almost paid off and i'm thinking of getting one. Motor Trend does a great shoot out between the se-r, svt focus, 1.8T GTi, and something else this month and it has very respectable performance plus I love the one I test drove.

I had a white one for 2 days!! damn i loved it!! nice stock system, alright power, looks tight! nice interior... i'm getting all weepy now, damnit!! But i guess i'm stuck to turboing my 97 SE-R instead! OH well! I think the spec-v has a lot of N/A potential!! Go for it if you can afford it.

my problem with the new one - the front end is butt-ugly and the rest of the car isn't that great either. i'm no grt fan of the 200-sx se-r's but they are a lot better looking than the new sentra se-r

The Spec V that I'm referencing off of is the street concepts one that you can check out on www.freshalloy.com . It tight!! 19's, carbon fiber hood, custom interior, supercharged!! Now that's what I'm talkin bout!!

I would say get it. The aftermarket will follow this car, they're bound too. There is a lot of aftermarket backing for this car but not as much as there is for the SR20DE engines. For the price it cannot be beat. At $5000 less than a new RSX type S you get a really good package that can easily be modded if you want, and the lower sticker price will allow you to modify the car to easily compete, and overpower a higher priced new RSX or even a new GTS for the same amount of money spent. I guess the final decision is yours, so you should go and test drive one (if you haven't yet) and see for yourself if you like the car.

2000-2001 B15 Sentra SE = SR20DE
2002+ B15 Sentra SE-R(and spec v) QR25DE

the sentra SE (and thus the SR20DE) were discontinued from nissan's lineup in 2002. now they offer the XE, GXE(with QG18DE) and the SE-R and SE-R spec-V (with QR25DE)

sux they dropped the SR20DE....
