Well I was coming home tonight and pushed the switch back to the bright side on the headlight lever and boom...no headlights.
So I went back to the dim setting and headlights come back on. I tried this several times and everytime the headlights want work on the bright setting???
I was wandering if anyone has had this problem with there Classic or know where to start.
Relay, dimmer switch???

your high beams may just be blown.....on thr truck i drove before i got my sentra the low beams blew out so we had to drive with the high beams on....i think we just got a new bulb or somethin but it wasnt an electrical problem or anything

what duck said. its good to start with cheap, easily expendable items first. new bulbs are only like 8 bones....i think this happened to my se-r when i first got it, but i don't really remember!:p

Well then both of the bright sides went out at the same time, highly unlikely. Both headlights do not work on the bright settings. Most of the time the dim side will go out because you drive on the dim side the majority of the time.

My NX2000 has a similar problem, but only on one side. I changed the bulb, but it still wouldn't go bright. I used a multimeter to see if it was getting voltage, and it was, but only part of the time. Sometimes it was like 6V and occasionally 11V. I suspect either a short in the wiring or a faulty switch. I need to fix it...

It is possible. I had both my lowbeams blow at the same time. It is weird but possible.

I had a similar problem with my left headlight just a few days ago. All of a sudden, the left one would not come on. I checked fuses and they were okay. Then I went to take out the bulb and realized that the clip holding the plug onto the back of the bulb was broken and had been held on by electrical tape. Eventually the tape couldn't hold it any more. That said, check and be sure the plug is in all the way on the back of the bulb and that the clip isn't broken or something.

Have a FSM handy: Disconn. Headlight switch connector-
Find out which pins to jump for the high beams to come on(look at the switch diagram for +, and grd),jump the pins if the highs stay off-check the wiring maybe the bulbs. (note: out of the switch only 1 output for the high beams-breaks off into 2 for each side after the SMJ/firewall)
If the highs come on-bad switch.

My .02 cents.
