Hey,
What is the best/cheapest suspension setup for a 98 SE? I want a pretty firm ride and for the rear and front to match in terms of wheel well clearance. Any suggestions? I thought aboutGC coil overs but they cost $$$. How are the sportline's? What about KYB or GAB for shocks? I appreciate the help. I am on a fairly strict budget and not sure if these components can be matched together or not?
Thanks.

Your best bet is to get the Motivational Coilover setup. It probly costs more than what you want to spend, but it gives you the adjustablity and great ride quality. If you put sportlines on it without shorten struts you WILL regret it. The ride was absolutley horrible.

Considering he doesn't want to pay for Ground Controls, I doubt he'll want to dish out twice as much for the Motivationals... If you don't want to lower the car and just looking for better handling, the GC's and KYB's are the best way to go I think.

KYB AGX struts/shocks are the kind of dampeners you'll want - they're the best bang for the buck. GAB adjustables were produced by KYB several years ago, and they're the same as the AGX at double the cost (if you can even find them anymore).
Eibach ProKits are an okay lowering spring and could be what you're looking for. They're not great for aggressive autocrossing or track lapping, but a lot of people like them for street driving. If you want a serious B14 high-rate setup, you'll have to pony up for the GC coil-overs or the Motivational setup.
Avoid the Eibach Sportlines unless you're into total show. They're universally regarded as a slammer spring that lowers too much without enough of an increase in spring rate.
Just a wild guess, but you could probably get a set of AGXes and ProKits in the $600 range total.

I would say go for the GC w/ AGX. Best bang-for-your-buck. As well, many parts of the car can be modded to perform better (intake, exhaust etc.) but what I've heard from many veteran SR20DE owners is that you cannot go cheap on the suspension. If you're going to do it, do it right the first time. If that means you have to save up for a little while longer, then do it. You will be happier in the long run if you do.

That won't work, those springs are for B13's only.

I had the Sportlines and Tokico setup, AGX and GC setup, and now I have the Motivational Coilovers. Since you are on a budget go with the AGX and GC setup. They do the job when installed properly. But if you can really wait and save the money, I would recommend the Motivational setup. I love it. I could adjust it to any height and still have close to a stock ride if not better.
