: IACV-Idle Air Regulator?

I checked SE-R.net and found out how to repair this but I think my problem may be worse.

Do you check the resistance while its off the car?

supposedly its supposed to be between 60-80 ohms

mine starts at like 130 and counts down to 0 (so im thinking replace)

also Just to check, SE-R.net says it should be closed when you look through it. For some reason I feel that this is incorrect.

The regulator controls quick warm up by uping the idle while cold.

well from what I understand, if you let more air into the intake the idle will increase. So I would think that the valve should be open when cold and close when warmed up so less air get to the intake during warm idle state.

Can anyone clarify this for me.

Thanks

Mine did the same thing it started at 130 ohms and went down to zero. I also had a computer to read Fuel duty cycle and at start up it was at 98%. I change out valves and still no luck. I tried that fix on se-r.net and no luck. The only thing that fixed it was SDS. With SDS I got ride of the IACV- Requlator and made my life alot easier.

well i figured out what I was doing wrong.
I needed a swift kick to the head, I wasn't using my DVM correctly

I had it on 200k ohms and not the regular 200 so checked it out and it was reading 71.2 ohms. I also took it apart and cleaned it have not really had the chance to see if it helped.
