mkarp 04-05-2006, 04:27 PM I assume bigger isn't necessarily better. Which is the best to use for a stock, or mildly upgraded engine? In my case, I'm probably going to be running one in the local stock car races. If I have an open exhaust, which is going to flow best for me from 4000-7500 rpm?
Mike
xt_out 04-05-2006, 06:24 PM great data! thanks andreas

you wanting to know the stock mafs output ?
paNX2K&SE-R 04-12-2006, 01:44 PM I think it might just be the 95 and older J30s with the same maf as the Z32. I'm pretty sure the 96+ J30s use a maf thats the same as the A32.

why do you think you would need something other than stock?

if your not making over 250whp on the stock sr maf,no need to worry...
immoble 04-12-2006, 11:34 PM you wanting to know the stock mafs output ?
Yes, how much whp can they handle. I'm currently using a s13 maf on my gtir setup with no problems so far.
SeRiousSr20s 04-22-2006, 03:43 AM why would u wanna use a Stock MAF its so restrictive. The 95-98 maxima is a 80 mm bore
LaRocca Racing 04-23-2006, 05:48 PM the stock s13 sr20det maf is almost exactly the same as the b13 sr20de maf...they will only supports about 250 to 280hp max...

What happens if you go over that HP on a MAF that can't support it?

ummm, you motor leans out. If it goes too far it will of course cause serious damage.

That's what I thought too but I wanted to double check lol.
I've had my setup past 280whp I'm sure and the Air/Fuel (yes I know it's not 100% accurate) was still reading right in the middle, not lean nor rich!
LaRocca Racing 05-21-2006, 11:25 PM i would invest in a wideband kit..

Yeah I agree, it's the only accurate tool in terms of air/fuel ratio!
Detboy 06-12-2006, 09:46 PM ? I have a cobra maf and just bought a new setup projected to hit around 400whp. do i keep the same maf, try to get bored out, or can i just switch to 300zx maf with no problem
