Started yanking apart my newest toy tonight.....
It's weird having a engineless 200sx on jackstands with a DET sitting in front of it on an engine stand, a GA16de sitting on the ground in front of that, and then the red NX on jackstands next to it...

The red NX I got was the one on ebay - first off the guy is a dick, he lied about the condition of the car - the hood is totally ruined due to major major hail damage - no where else though.... Anyways he was like "sorry, to bad".... oh well the car was still a deal.

The timing chain was not snapped, instead the motor was run without oil (leak found in the lower pan, looks like the person before scraped the ground pretty good once), there is oil cooked on the dipstick - and the engine is knocking like there is no tommorow....

Question from all this - did any US engines ever have a valve cover with the center part painted black like the DET's? my '93 nx is goldish in color..... Oh and this car is a '92 and has ABS - and the AD22VF's while my '93 without abs has them also...

I ordered a DE from JGY and tonight I yanked the axles, unplugged everything, and basically have it ready to be removed...

The bitch once again - axle nuts.... the other thing is that damn torque bracket - the guy before busted off the bottom bolt and left it as is, and the top one broke when I tried to take it out - so I have some drilling and tapping to do...

Other than that looks like a fun project car - though its already sold to my sis's boyfriend lol....

Dude, where do you get your money? I want to start a 240SX DET swap project, and I'm YEARS away from even planning it...

Yes they did. I have a VC from a 91 with a black center. I can snap a pic of it if you want to see if it is the same.

That makes two of us Chrissy. My stock vc off my 91 classic is a goldish color with a flat black center.

Cool thanks for clearning the VC thing up....

As for money..... Start your own software company at 13, have no social life until the middle of highschool - realize you had no social life and party your brains out the rest of high school and at the start of college, then blow college off, and go work at a large car audio company as a PC Tech/Webmaster.....

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it... hehe
