Does anyone know, or know where to find out how many NX2000's, and SE-R's were built during their production run? I know my NX is rare, but I would like to know the actual #'s

I once saw a web site that put the numbers for the three year (USDM) production run at 3,000 units per year.

My hearsay was that about 2800 were sold in the US in 1991. All were sold in CA. This is hearsay from a used car dealer, the one who sold me mine in '98.

In San Diego, here, I see one or two a month. I'll often put out a small honk when I pass them by.

check the SE-R mailing list archives. They posted that about a year ago. The drivers of 98 SE-Rs and 98/99 Sentra SE's drive some rare cars! :D

We should research this and come up with some hard figures... since we are the authority on the subject. The NX2000 is such a cool car, one of my favorite things is trying to explain to someone over the phone what it is... especially some of the redneck mechanics around here. I actually had a guy tell me that there was no such thing as an NX2000!

Yeah, it's funny... you tell them exactly what kind of car it is, and they ALWAYS say, "now, it's a 2000 model?", or "you say an NSX?". I love the way they look at you.

Found this on the SE-R mailing list archives, all by myself (thanks for nothing, guys...:D)

(start quote)
From: Illustrated Datsun/Nissan Sports Car Buyer's Guide
by John Matras, publ 1996

91 NXs sold - 5562 60% were NX2000, 50% had ABS, 33% were Auto Trans

92 NXs sold - 9389 58% were NX2000, 72% had T-bar roof
25% had the 'Power' option (pwr wind, door)

93 NXs sold - 7329 only 4% NX2000s !!!???

Published: 91 NX2k weight = 2668lb, 140hp & 130ft-lb
power options available starting in 92

Had some data on SE-R classics, but no sell numbers really aside from a
remark that only 5% of all Sentras sold in 94 were SE-Rs. Also, curb
weight for 91SE-R said to be 2600lb.

For 200SX-SER (95-96) published weight 2588lb, Cd = 0.33.

There was of course more info, some of it questionable as is some of the
above stuff. Also, collectible status of these cars was not rated as even
'medium' compared to 300ZXs, 240Zs, etc (yet??) and even those would not
be money makers if anyone is thinking of that. Just fun, reliable,
inexpensive used cars to own.
(end quote)

That means there are:
3337 '91's
5446 '92's
293 '93's (wow)

Damn!!!!! I'm lucky then I've got a '93 lol...

sheesh... that explains why I heard there were only 12 ever saphire blue NX's made... sweeeeet..

As for being rare - when I called TWO different dealers around here looking for parts and told them NX2000 they were like "uhhhh" so I said - B13 w/sr20de - ohhhh ok... lol not until I gave them the VIN did they know what the hell I had...

Fun fun

yeah I was the one that said that about 12 saphire blue nx's. When Ibought my agx a couple years ago I was talking to Isidro at high performance online. I had talked about painting my car silver or a burnt copper oarnge colour. and He asked what kind of car is it? I said NX2k , he says what year? I say 93. Isidro was then talking about ohhh a 93 the rarest ones your lucky. then i said something about the paint he's like what colour is it now? I said saphire blue. He gets all excited " dont change that colour i'll be very upset theres only 12 of those made" So now I still think about changing it but the more I think about it I want to repaint it the saphire blue. It is a nice colour on the NX.BTW I see a saphire blue classic se-r around here every once in a while. It looks good too.

Looks like the '93 will be the collectors car soon.
I guess I better get something else for a track car.

Nice find. Now get a motor and it's on.

OT-Ian do you by chance work for Baldwin hardware? I rep their prod. in Lowe's stores. Just noticed your location.

Back to it, I am glad I own a 93-super black, soon to have all power options from another nx.

dealer language is confusing, whenever i go to a dealership and say i have a 92 nx2000, they are like nx pulsar??
I have to say "b13 sentra coupe with the sr20" other wise they dont have a clue what im talking about.
