Heres the senerio: This is on my 91 se-r. When idling it does not make the noise. When I blip the gas it will make a clicking noise as the rpms begin to fall then once the rpms reach normal 800-900 it stops. While driving, as I start slowing down and it hits below 2,000 rpm the noise will start up. If I depress the clutch the noise will stop. It sounds like its comming from the tb/intake mani general area but I cant pinpoint it. Any ideas? I just bought the car recently and this noise just came about.

I hope I am wrong. I had the same problem it was a wristpin clip came out. It got worse and worse. I could also be the top timing chain guide. They make this noise also. Maybe the T/O bearing.??

Its not the t/o bearing it makes the noise when im at a dead stop and hit the gas. The noise never increases or decreases speed.

Upper timing chain? Maybe air in the lifters sometimes they can be weird!

I'm with Brian. No clue (= Fitzer valve) :-)
But if you depress the clutch and the noise ALWAYS stops, that'd be a REAL good clue.
