: Clipping turbine wheel.. Worth it?

I personally dont like it. A friend of mine and I got in a discussion about it today. He says it helps flow a lot, with minimal increase in lag. I have had clipped turbine wheels before and they sucked. Lag was horrible for the size turbo..

What about slope ground wheels. Basically clipped on a grinder FWIW.

What do yall think about it. My friend is putting a 57 Trim Stage 3 exhaust and 82 housing on a eclipse. The turbo shop accidently sent him a slope ground turbine wheel. They will swap it for free. I told my friend to send it back, but he wants to keep it.

Do any of you SR20 Guys use it.

Clipping sucks. Big loss in turbine efficiency, and a little gain in turbine flow

What about slope ground. His turbine wheel looks like material was only taken off the exducer of the turbine wheel. I cant see why this would affect anything, except maybe to lighten it a little bit.

Thanks

Thanks

I've never seen a slope ground turbine wheel, but given the quality of most of the turbo 'modifications' that come out of the aftermarket, I would caution against it
