Would you guys recommend I change the gasket that goes underneath the Valve Cover? And should I change the spark plug seals too?

I'm gonna get a red powdercoated one :) so i'm gonna be changing VC's

I would, but that is just me, it is only 5 bux, and not really worth my time to pull it apart to do it again.

Well it sound like he's getting another valve cover so he figures he might as well change it while he's swapping them.

The gasket I got at the dealer was $12 though.

If you can tie your shoe you can replace the gasket.

Remove the valve cover and pull out the old gasket (it should be inserted into the trim line of the inside of the valve cover)

Just replace it with the new one. Use a little Permatex Gasket sealent on the three half-circle shaped parts of the gasket (there are two on the left side of the valve cover and 1 on the right)

Place the valve cover back on and make sure the gasket did not fall out of the grooves anywhere. I use a strong light and trace the entire perimeter of it with my fingers. If the gasket is not set properly it will be destroyed when you tighten down the valve cover, and you will get a nasty oil leak.

Follow the proper tightening sequence and torque of the valve cover bolts from the FSM that you should have, and you're done. Be careful, the valve cover bolts HATE too much torque, and they love to snap.
