Tell me I’m not crazy. (Well I really am but...)

I need to replace my VC gasket, No problem right?

Well I go to my dealer and ask for 1 said VC/rocker gasket with the spark plug and center gaskets too. It made me feel good when they said that the Spark gaskets are integrated into the rocker gasket. So I pick it up when it comes in but here is what I got.

Can anyone point out where the spark plug gaskets are?

This is the older gasket without the SP gaskets right?


If you have any other Pearls Of Wisdom on changing the gasket please chime in.

your supposed to get 4 of those circle rubber gaskets instead of just 1

No, that one circle he got goes around the stud in the middle of the VC. There are 5 rings in all, the 4 larger ones for the plugs and that one. When you order a VC gasket from nissan what you have is what you get. Chances are you can reuse the plug gaskets anyway, those don't tend to leak like the big one.

Ok i'm putting on my new PC Valve Cover today. Just one quick question, Do I put seelant on both sides of the qasket?

I have to search for the bolt order and torque #.

I'll put ** and after pix up later so you can see how bad it is/was.

You only put sealant at the corners of the base of the hump over the distributor. Each corner gets a 10mm long bead. That's it.

Torque specs and tightening sequence are on SE-R.net.

I think the torque specs where 45-50 in lbs. And I used a beed of rtv sealant around the whole thing just be sure.
