Has anyone heard if a new Sentra is coming in the next year or two? How may years has the current model been out and how often does Nissan refresh them?

Nissan cars are generally on a 4-5 year schedule (B13s were '91-94. B14s were '95-99), so I figure the new Sentra is due either in 2004 or 2005 considering it debuted in '00. Haven't heard any talk about one yet though. As long as they don't make it as ugly as the new Corolla, I'm happy :).

Seeing as this Gen started with the 00s, I'd bet you have till at least 2004 before you see anymore. Less than a 4-year model run is rare. 5-year runs are becoming more popular (b13=4 yrs, b14=5 yrs). Usually they get "refreshed" at midlife (ie 2 or 3 years) and and thats what they did by bringing out the SE-R and SPEC V. Of course, it seems odd that they'd only let these new SE-Rs live for 2 or 3 years, then replace them. Then again, they might be following Honda, who only produces the Si for a 2 or 3 yrs at a time. Sorry this got kinda long, but I'd put my money on seeing b16s in '04, and I've got my fingers crossed that we won't have to sit through 2 SE-R -less years of that model (I doubt it, though, seeing as they spent all that $$ getting them new engines).

Don't forget Nissan is now part of Renault... I mean u never know what the French influence may be.... I've heard rumours that they want to use Renault 4 Bangers and Nissan V6's across the board, I dunno what truth there is to this. I would think Renault might be using Nissan in North America to bring some of their products into the North American Market.

That's my $0.02 :)

Well, Nissan is hurting for a new Minivan design... how about they send over the Espace F1. I'd buy one :D!

Nissan does have a new minivan design. All new 2003 Quest...non-Ford product.

From the way talk was going out at the convention this year, it sounded like Nissan had in mind a B16 SE-R, with what I would guess to be a QR20DET going into it. Just speculation though.

The Renault Clio is alright. But the Peugeot 206 is better I hope they bring the 206 over it seems to win all the rally races

I hope that Nissan sticks in the SR20VE or SR20DET in the next Sentra. Mazda is coming out with a turbo Protoge for crying out loud!!! I don't mean to diss the QR25DE guys, but that engine is kinda disapointing. Great torque, but the acceleration is not as fast as it should be. And what's up with that open deck design?? It's just like a Honda engine. Too much boost & that engine is gone. You'll definetly need to sleeve that block. You know what though? I would gladly take an SE-R Spec V over any Acura or Honda car!!! :p :D A 4 wheel drive SR20VET Sentra would really kick ass!!!!! Now, if only Nissan can deliver..........
