: 205 45/16 Tires . Which are good?

Just wondering what tires you guys recommend in this size. I'm currently using Yokohama Paradas which served me for about 30k. I've been pretty happy with them, but just wondering if anything else out there in this size you strongly recommend.
Anybody running Sumitomos or Toyo Proxes?

If you got the cash, get the toyo T1S. I just got 16s, but I went with yokohama A520s. Excellent tire, I am very happy with it!
98sr20ve 03-22-2002, 02:35 PM If you can afford the Bridgestone S03 get them. They are probably the most consistently highly rated tire in the articles and research I did. They also only have one weakness, which is really cold weather. Every tire in its class has that weakness. Paradas and others might compete in some areas but look at treadwear, rain, dry handling and it's a different story. SO3 have very little other then price to not recommend them.

You are talking 2 way different price ranges here. If you have the $$$ get the ToYO T1S. these are the same tires that are used on the race cars on speedvision, they are just shaved. The Kumhos are a cheap high performance tire, although for a few extra bucks you have many other options...like the yoko a520s ;)
its your choice in the end, and some people buy tires strickly for the look!
98sr20ve 03-22-2002, 07:33 PM I didn't realize that the SO3 didn't come in that size. Parada's are now on a new version which is much improved from what I have heard. Don't know about sizes. Also, have you gone to TireRacks web site to look at what they have. People give comments on there about the tires and they also do their own independent testing. It's not all inclusive because they don't sell TOYO or Azenia's but its a start.

SmoothDaddyFig 03-23-2002, 10:30 PM LOL>................Im running 205/40/16 Yokohama A520s up front and 205/40/16 Kumho Ecsta 712s in the rear. :rolleyes: I needed cheap so I went with Kumho for a replacement. I like the pattern on the Kumhos. Its not as aggressive as the Yoko but for the $$$$ its well worth it.
