I'm trying to install a VE head onto a highport and I was wondering if I need the VE hard water lines. My old DE ones look like that are not going to work. Thanks.

You can try what I did and replace them... I replaced my old DE hard lines on my Roller Rocker Head (53J)... I cleaned the mating surfaces and used grey RCV Sealant. Some say to use blue, but grey is what was used for OEM on both engines... The reason I did this was because I noticed the lines are differenent on my DE Manifold... Might not work for you because your highport but I hope it helps...

I hope this is what your talking about...

Since you are keeping the DE block, you should be okay.

Eric is right... I posted too much info w/o reading thoroughly... sorry.

If you are just swapping the head and keeping your old manifold its all good.

Are you referring to the DE or VE manifold? I'm running the VE intake manifold.

I'm not sure what the DE manifold looks like but I know the RR one had a different setup for the coolant lines. The VE may as well be the same... You may have to swap them, but you might not have to, but you need to check with the VE guru's....

The lines I am referring to are the exact ones in picture one in post thread number 2. I think that I will need the lowport/RR/VE water lines. I believe that either ones will work. I will see soon.

We will see very soon. I am out of town this weekend, so my time is limited with daylight at best.

I have the new water lines but it looks like it doesn't hook up to the water neck coming off of the back of the block. Any clues as to what may be wrong?

You are takimg about the neck that comes of the head were the coolant sensor and the sending unit goes let me know because I have that one too...
