Well after many weeks of things not going right the unthinkable has happened. I finally got to start my turbo install. First off I have to thank my fellow Northern Alliance ;) members who came down to lend a hand. Thanks for driving all the way down and getting yelled at by the old dude with PMS. No Maintence!!!! ( huh Sherman! ) But yeah to Antonio, ( riding in your car and hearing your BOV made it harder not to finish my car ) Walter, ( Hardcore! Thanks for all your wrenching! ) Sherman, ( Thanks for the tools! ) Jorge, ( Thanks for snapping the pics, and try not to run out of gas next time ) and of course the hole maker himself Luis! ( Thanks for all your advice and the luck...opps I mean skill not to fawk up the drilling;) Props go out to our other Northern Alliance members that weren't able to be there but called enough to be considered there ( Vince ) and Ron for hooking me up with some very needed components for the install. So the projects started and here are some pics! Oh yeah and a quick Thank you to Ben Davis for sending me the Drill Bit and Tap. I know there are people waiting on them so I'll mail them out Monday!

just to let you guys know, you can drill your block without dropping the oil pans. all you have to do is plug up ALL PCV tubes, and pressurize the block with an air compressor (all you need is about 25 psi, any more and you will probably shoot the dipstick out of the block!) the air is forced out of the hole you are drilling and forces any shavings out with it. change oil afterwards to make sure any shavings didnt get in, and VOILA!

Or you can just drop the oil pans and not worry about anything :D

JRios: Its a 1/2NPT fitting. I think irwin has the details on how thick it is, I think its 5/8ths unsure.

bah, im over it. looks like you AND terrin have had bad luck with your FPRs huh? is it something about Sacramento that just curses classic owners? maybe both of your cars were afraid of facing off, so they both conviently broke? :D

Nah, at least my bad luck happened well into my car's career. Besides he can still "face off" with me and so can you. Just call me when either of you breaks a 13.3 I'll be ready to represent by then ;)

Man, you guys are hilarious...

I'll be there Tuesday again to help with the madness. I'll also be bringing hard core midnight excavation type lights so we can wrench in darkness. I hope you got that oil outta your hair Irwin.

As for Wednesday, I was thinking of getting some "baseline" runs in with the ole DET setup, but I'm not sure about it. Maybe if the King lets me use his slickies, I'll be down. Don't want to break the tranny.

Cool..the Alliance comes through again! Yeah hopefully we can get the car finished up on Tuesday so the Alliance can represent at this weekends Dyno Day! Lol.. as for the oil (Antonio) I got it all out. Kinda wierd the oil kinda had a soothing type feeling. My hair seems to have this new fullness to it. Yall shoud try it. (j/p):D But yeah I'll see you guys on Tuesday.

I BREAK YOU OFF FOO!

hehe, i am hoping for a 13.3, if i do hit that time, though, i think i will have beaten you, as my trap will more than likely be higher. what was the exact time and trap speed so i have a goal?

Luis
03-25-2002, 04:15 PM
No I think you need to hit my time buddy :D Trap speed don't mean crap to me unless it's attached to a good time. I mean you can start setting up excuses now. But even if you run a 13.5@140mph you still "lost". Maybe you made 400hp on that run.. but hey.. Luis got there first ;) Good luck either way ***. I hope you can beat a mildly modded car with 254k and "only" a 50shot :D

no luis, you misunderstand grashoppa.

Luis: 13.3@103 (guesstimate, you still havent told me what the trap was one that run)

Steve: 13.3@104(or greater)

i think the win should go to me, as i ran the same time, but my car was faster through the traps.

and as for the 254K sentra, that thing was a total freak of nature, and you know it! i think the carbon build up from all those miles gave you an 11.5:1 motor or something.

and if i ran a 13.2, then steve got there first, at least among you, terrin and i.

we shall see either way april 6th, terrin, some other turbo SE-R guys, and me will be running at carlsbad aka ghettosbad. i think there should a correction factor for this track, like say i run a 13.3@104, it would translate to a 8.5@189 at ANY other track. :D

So are those MY drill and tap in those pictures? After two months they are finally seeing some action!

Get those things to art_from_ct! PM him and send them straight to him! He's been waiting for a month! :)

Just run a 13.2 already :D My time was 13.3@101.7 I don't give a crap what your mph is, unless you get a better time. Just show me a 13.2 or better and then we can talk. Just run C16 and unplug the wgate and you're deep in the 12's for sure.

At least till the ABC car is done :D
