does anybody have an opinion about who makes the best turbo manifold? somebody has got to have something to say.

It depends on what it's for... Drag strip or daily driver??? Built or stock engine?? For the most power it would have to be an equal length manifold (F-max stage 4 runs to where the battery used to be, i think) and you would need a bigger turbo to push it. For daily driver It's all about personal preference... I personally wouldn't buy the F-max log style manifold. I just bought the RevHard Manifold, but haven't finished my project, so i can't tell you much about it. I'm not sure about the Hotshot manifold or any others that are out there... I'm new to the turbo scene though.

What is your beef with the FMAX manifold?

do you use the f-max manifold? I'm looking for pro's and cons of each manifold.:)

I have poultry with the F-max Manifold.

Rev Hard looks good.. but I don't see a wastegate flange?

Pros of fmax, easy install buy fmax down pipe and ic piping.
Ben B. ran a 10.3 using the Fmax
Fairly easy to find used

Cons, 600 new

I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, because I don't have any prejudice against rev-hard but... That turbo manifold is a direct ripoff of the Hotshot turbo manifold that has been around for years. I mean, EXACT copy. kinda disheartening.

I don't have any experience with either, but i like the way the RevHard is setup better. The wastegate flange has yet to be welded on.. dunno why, I bought it from Louis Anaya, maybe he didn't want it done before he did his setup. I couldn't tell you about the the differences between the hotshot and RevHard, never had a chance to see them side-by-side... For $475, I have no complaints with the RevHard.

I may be wrong but shouldn't that rev-hard manifold have expansion slots cut on the flange between the cylinders? Doesn't the F-max one have expansion slots?
People also bash the F-Max because it is a log type, but truth is it works.

who makes the best turbo manifold?

Best is taken in context of what you want to do. Do you want to run 13's and be very stock and reliable then Nismo GTIR with a T28, Do you want to run 12 or better then F-Max or maybe Rev-Hard, or Hotshot with a T3T4e. That rev-hard looks well made as far as welds go. Any welded manifold can crack easier then the GTIR manifold. Most can be made reliable if made properly.

There will be a cheaper alternative to the F-max manifold soon!
Protech will be finishing their log style manifold within the next couple of weeks. All I can say at the moment that it will be alot cheaper than the overpriced F-max unit with the same benefits.

Also, their custom lenght stainless manifold that was made for my car should put out #'s no later than next week. I'll keep everyone updated.

Here's some pictures of my FMAX Stage 4 manifold, for those wondering what it looks like.

That thing is F***ing BAD!! Someday I'll upgrade to that after I build my engine, but for now I'm good with the RevHard...
Someday...

Zak, how did that effect performance compared to the f-max log manifold. That thing is gorgeous.

Zak how much does F-max charge for that turbo manifold....thanks

Steve, we know it's a better performing manifold, mostly because it's a tubular manifold, but I never had a chance to dyno it. Aaron LaBeau, who has the same manifold I do, is getting dynoed this weekend so maybe I'll have an answer after this weekend. ;)

I think FMAX wants about $1500 for this manifold by itself.

Have you melted anything? It looks like it's awfully close to alot of accessories. It's a beautiful piece though.

No, it's not close enough or doesn't get hot enough to melt stuff. It gets very hot but it doesn't radiate out very far. I'm also going to get Swain's White Lightning heat barrier coating for it eventually, and that will help.
