i was just wondering....how much is your shifter supposed to move in 5th? when i let off the gas and get back on, it moves, quite a bit..im guessing a little movement is normal, but it seems excessive. I had a totally shot motor mount, it was replaced, and didnt seem to change much. The mechanic said there was another mount that was a little loose, but didnt need replacing yet ( i would have told him to replace it, but i wasnt there when he called to confirm everything, my mom was though). So is the shifter moving normal? and if not, should i get the other 2 mounts replaced, or would you think its worth it to put in a set of the ES inserts? would i even need to go the ES for that matter, or would the stock mounts do fine..

and also, if i should replace them, are they a bitch to do, or could a guy do it? im not a total mechanical moron, i have some skill, but i dont want to get into anything i couldnt handle. thanks guys

Just get the ES Torque Set and Shifter Bushing. $31 plus shipping for both from suspension.com - I did those and it eliminated 99% of the hopping shifter syndrome in my Black car. Very highly recommended mod and vendor!

If you have jackstands, a floor jack, a ratchet set, a small vise (to press in the dogbone mounts), WD40 or silicone spray, and basic experience working on cars you can do this.

The mounts for all '91-99 SR20DEs are the same. Order the ones for the '91-'94. They will know when you call, anyway. When I called, they were not open yet, he picked up the phone on his way in the door (I forgot CA was earlier than me, duh), and he knew off the top of his head the part numbers for these pieces for an SE-R. The shifter bushings are also the same - not sure why ES has 2 part numbers, since the bushings are identical.
