so I was looking at just picking up the hotshot IC piping kit because my IC piping needs to be changed to make room for an external wastegate.

in the picture on hotshots website:

I am not sure this is the piece I am looking for. Is this the kit with the compressor outlet pipe like Daves, seen here:

those are 2 different piping setups. the one from the site goes from the compressor outlet and to the passenger side, whereas daves ( t28 of course) goes towards the drivers side, then down.

and im sure you can find a way to squeeze that wastegate in there somehow...withour having to change out entire setups! i switched mine with modifications........remember, it can go 3 different directions, not just like daves

here mine

To get the candy cane style hot pipe, you need the Bluebird kit.

sooo, the BB kit will just bolt up to my GTIR setup? why do I suddently feel like such a noob?

I see it now, thank you guys for clarifying. Im too cheap, Ill probably just buy some piping and weld something up myself.

no the turbo intake pipe is differnt so i think you might have to get a bb kit with a gtir intake tube

Order a GTi-R kit if you have a t28. The cold side just needs a slight mod to work. Monty has pics if you search under his name (McCoy).

thats what he wants to AVOID if he is going to run external wastegate. the compressor outlet pipe will (*smack!*) hit the wastegate. he has to go underneath, not over the top

I have a hot shot GA16 turbo outlet pipe that might work with slight modification. It goes down and around towards the passenger side IC inlet but does so away from the turbo outlet. Here's a pic.

Here's a pic of the piping not installed, you can see hwo it goes down and around the turbo a bit better.

The turbo outlet and inlet pipes are on the far right. I have both of them lying around if you think they will help you. I'm sure we can work something out as far as the price goes.

You want this:

This is the bluebird kit, but if you order the GTI-R kit, this is what you'll get (the intake pipe will have a 2-bolt flange for the turbo rather than no flange at all)

Something doesn't add up. I ordered my GTiR pipe kit a week or two ago, and it shipped last Thursday. Just about every single time I called, I got Martha on the phone, and I also spoke to John once, he was a very cool guy.

yea its called welding shut your stock internal wastegate shut.... throwing that shit in your closet.. then weld a flange on corner of jpipe so the wastegate aims directly to where the a/c compressor should be.. then you can either dump it down or out the passenger wheel well.

Nah, I pulled the A/C compressor and I am installing all the A/C stuff in Eggbert as a daily driver.

I am mostly weighing my options on cleaning up my setup and adding the external gate. I will probably just weld myslef a tricky little pipe and wrap it in heat wrap, or get it powder coated...
