Hey guys, after I got my car back my speedo didnt work and it makes a clicking noise and it is very annoying. I dont know if it is a belt or something in the dash that is connected to the wheels spiing or something, but i figure someone knows and will be able to guid me in the right direction. The fast i move the faster it clicks..if im going 1 mile/hr it will go , click.............click........then if i speed up it speeds up. Hope this helps you to understand what its doing ,

PLEASE HELP!!! AHHH ITS SO ANNOYING haha

Your speedo has a cable coming from it going too the transmission which spins allowing you to know how fast you are traveling, If it is not pushed in all the way it will not work and possibly will click, You may need to replace it with a new one or just put it back in. You can do that with a flashlight by looking down under the intake manifold look down to the tranny you should see a hole about the size of a nickle, grab the speedo cable coming from the fire wall and slip it back in, take if for a spin see if the speedo moves, if it does then you are good to go. If that is not the problem take the screws out the the cluster and remove it see if that hasnt been broken off for some strange reason, Watch out for the clips on the back they are easy to break off if you dont know they are there.

You got your car back and the speedometer makes a clicking sound. The funny thing is, the same exact thing happened to me.

Was your car getting a clutch job by any chance?

I had a JWT PP installed on my '91 SE-R a few summers ago, and when I got it back the speedometer was working but it was clicking and making a groaning noise. I assume when the shop removed the tranny they didn't re-connect everything. But lucky for me the sound went away by itself.

heh, mine's been doing that since i bought it in january. i'm not fixing it until my speedo breaks. annoying or not, i don't feel like messing with it. i've gotten used to it anyways. :)

The cable could need some lubrication...;) You can get to the back of the speedo cable thing by sticking your hand up inside the dash like right above the brake pedals and stuff....the clips that hold my cable to the speedo are broken, but it still works because of my gheto rigging..:D
