ok, I figured that today I would check my timing and advance it:D , so I check its over 20:confused: so i set it to like 17 and go for a drive and my car feels like a turd. so i just un bolt the distributor and move it to where it was before and dam it feels fast again:cool: , now i went back again and set it to 17 because once again it was above 20 but no for the part that i dont understand is that when it was above 20 i have been driving around like that for seven months and never had any pinning or detonation but i did get horrible gas mileage (i have a primera motor btw) Now i guess ill drive it like this for a while but the car feels ass slow, and at the track on friday i am going to put it back to where it was, if im not detonating than it shouldnt matter i mean i did drive around like that for seven months with no problems. So I guess on the street I'll just leave it at 17 and ill probably get better gas mileage, i hoope i was getting like 17 mpg:rolleyes: i thjought it was injector seals but now im thinking that must have been it.. any comments greatly appreciated. I even ran it at the track the way it was before and ran a 15.5 with nothing done boooone stock, so i guess that explains a somewhat decent time with the timing like that, and here i thought i had the timing at a stock 13 degrees or something like that:rolleyes: oh and i always run 93 octane or better so thats not issue.

Did you set the timing per-the FSM, or Se-r.net? Also, what is your idle set at? That can fudge up your timing too.....

did it by the se-r.net but it said it came right from the fsm, idle is set at 800. I don't know, but on friday at the track its going back up above 20 it was there for 7 months with no pinging or detonation so it should be fine.

I get 270-290 miles per tank with 17* timing and redling all damn dIZay!!

I hope your car quickens up. But after a while you'll get used to the slowness and it will feel fast. :(

I gained about 4hp on the dyno advancing to about 19-20deg. No pinging or such. My mileage from a raod trip from TN to PA was right at 29mpg!

yeah........ my timing was a decent amount over 20 though, i know it is said that you dont gain anything with the timing above 19 but id like to beg to difer, i dong get how i wasnt detonating though-i had it like that for like seven months too.
