Maybe you guys will get lucky like us SR guys and the aftermarket will really start to pick it up about the time Nissan quits producing it!!! :D

Assuming the QR25 will be at least 4 years into production, then yes you'll have alot of nice parts within a couple years.

The SR20 parts will still outweigh the QR25 parts then 10 to 1, but not for long after because it's no longer produced.

Any Exhaust Shop can build a custom exhaust. Start there.

I wonder what would be better for these motors? 2.25 or 2.5 inch?

There is already 3-4 CAI's including : AEM, PR, Hotshot, Injen
There is 2 WAI: JWT Stillen
There is a header: Hotshot
There is 2 exhuasts: Stromung and VRS, both can be had in 2.25 or 2.5
There is a large brake kit from Brembo
There is Stainless Steel Lines: SMC(don't think you can get them anymore??)
You can get lowering springs from Eibach and Intrax (Though I doubt the spring rates are as stiff as the Spec V's"
You can build a suspension with B13 fronts, B14 rears and GC coilovers.

There should be a suspension soon if Progress decides to sell it
UR was looking into pullies, clutch, flywheel (to replace the 28 lb. moster in the car now)
Area 51 is building a Super Charger
Nismo is coming with parts in the fall with header, exhaust, suspension

I can't think of anything else now, but I'm sure the parts will keep coming. Especially with the popularity of the new altima.

Stromung exhaust also... and various cosmetic mods that are available for all B15s... We aren't doing to bad already.

The aftermarket ihas already followed that engine. Thanks to the popularity of the SE-R with the SR20, all the same companies have made/are making parts for this car/engine, too.

I know that there will soon be a Turbo Spec V on the streets, but the QR25 isn't as robust as the SR20, so don't look for 20psi on a stock bottom end (the rods are *tiny*!!).

I would prolly just start out with a nice cold air intake injen AEM place racing. Then I would find out which exhaust dynod the best stromung, HKS, Greedy, apexi whatever you do dont buy the stillen exhaust when that comes out I heard it sucks and all it produces is noise

Yeha the nismo line is going to be nice but prolly really expensive headers, s-tune brake pads, limited slip upgrade, radiators, exhaust, turbo kits, strut braces, rims, injectors, clutches etc... I would wait a couple of months and then dive into tuning it extensively *** in about that time more manufacturers will build stuff for it

I wouldn't be expecting a turbo kit from Nismo. What I would expect from them is the S-Tune full coilover suspension, S- Tune pads, blank keys, rad caps, oil caps, rear strut tower parts, Weldina exhaust, aero parts, possible differant cluters their complete line of wheels, clothing, and anything blazed with Spec V logo etc. This is jsut for the spec V then all there other stuff will most likely be avail. 240sx guys are going to be on a high when they see the ever going list of stuff. Hopefully they will also design some stuff for our cars (classic) since there were only 4 doors over there and didn't have gobs of respect.

Carlos

I would get the Spec V is you want one. Aftermarket seems to be keen to the car. Some of that stuff has been avail for a bit now too.

At the Convention, Hotshot showed their prototype QR25DE parts WITH DYNO CHARTS.

Their shortie header made 10 hp at the wheels. This is very impressive! This is for a short-runner 'street' type header that still retains the stock close-coupled cat location.

They also showed their QR25 cold air intake. This made *another* 10 hp at the wheels. So, with Hotshot header and intake, the car went from ~142 whp to 162 whp. Damn.

165 whp or so should be expected from intake/header/exhaust. When there is that much easy hp on the table to get out of the car, the aftermarket will jump all over that car.

Mike Kojima told me the Hotshot header replaced the CC Cat??? so it doesn't? Looks to me like it replaces it:

That is the "race" header. I believe they are making two types. Which would explain the "street" version that Rob was describing. Makes sense to me. Two versions is a damn good idea due to the problems that can arise from moving the cat.

Hey, just remember the QR25 is used in the altima too and i'm sure nissan will adapt it to other platforms as well, including infinity. If the engine is as widely used as the SR20 has been then it's a shoe-in for the aftermarket.

Right. They are going to do a long-tube header that puts the cat under the car.

The one they showed at the Convention made 10 hp at the wheels and didn't move the cat. Damned impressive.

I would jump on this if I had a Spec V
