who has a car with 150 to 160 whp without NOS or turbos tell me what mods you have to get you there. And is this horsepower mark only possible with C series cams

You can list the 10:1 Jdm motors too but no VVL motors. I always see cars with like 146whp 148, 142, etc.... Im just curious if anyone out there is over that hump

Luis Molina dynoed 152whp w/ all the bolt ons on his 93 not too long ago on his 250K+ motor w/ std bolt ons, S3s and JWT ECU.

Also, there's the people that had C-series cams that dynoed 160-170whp and of course those that have high compression motors that have dynoed that high too. I think the highest I've seen/heard of is 182hp or so w/ high compression and C3 cams.

Check out the infamous Naji pages.
He pulled 163-165 with all the bolt-ons.
This is my goal as well.

i got close to the 150 mark with just cone filter/pace header/ courtesy exhaust/ 91 cam. it pulled 148.5whp

In my opinion, you need aftermarket cams to reach that power range N/A

I pulled 155 at the wheels with HotSHot Gen4 header, HotShot CAI, JWT ECU, JWT S4s, UR Pullies, and a RTR Power Steering Eliminator on a 200k+ motor that had been turboed with a HotShot Turbo kit running 10 psi for 50K miles (@250 crank hp).

You will probably need cams to break over 150 whp.

My 97 SE-R dyno'd at 150whp and some weak 126ftlbs torque.

Mods include, JWT POP, HS 3rd gen header, Courtesy b-pipe, 5zigen muffler, JWT ECU, S4's, UR 2 pullies, and JUN flywheel.

Car also ran 14.5 @ 93mph

Nollan no fair now since your car will not be the same anymore :)

Ive never dynoed my car but I do have s3s JWT ECU, Nology hotwires, Denso Iridium plugs, PR CAI, Hotshot Header, 2.25 piping with apex N1 muffler, UR 4 pulley set and ES motor mounts I was just curious thanks for the input

Any idea of what my WHP is gonna be
i am only missing the flywheel at look at my mod at my website

I'm not sure what your whp would be wow you got some good shit under that hood. Im guessing prolly anywhere from 164whp to 177whp w/o Nos. Hows that RC engineering TB did you feel a difference when you slapped that on

NOt really a big different, my friend gave that to me.

I made 151 at the wheels with PR CAI, S3's(w/o S3 program), JWT ECU, HS Gen3, Test pipe, GReddy cat back, Jun ultralight, .020 over OE pistons, Mild polish on head ports.

I've been told I could make more by adjusting the timing but since I run the JWT 100 shot NOS program, I don't want to deviate from 15* timing. It runs pretty good as is.

Low ports seem to be able to get to about 150 whp with the basic bolt ons (intake/header/exhaust/ECU/S3's/Pullies). High ports don't seem to do as well... most only make about 144-145, although there are exceptions.

S4's are good for about 150 whp on a high port. Both Tom Paule and myself did that number with S4's and the bolt on's.

I did 162 at the wheels with all bolt on's plus C2's. I did 170 at the wheels with all bolt ons plus C3's.

This was with 9.5:1 compression on a stock bottom end with a stock non-ported head.

I am real anctious to get my car back on the dyno. I made 138whp with I/H/E/UP.

I am now running the C2 Cam/ECU package but have a crack in my AEBS header at the collector. I will probably have it on the dyno within the next month or so.

It should be interesting to see what my car makes compared to yours Rob.

So ClassicSE-R, do the low port produce more power to a similarly equipped high port or when you put cams does it equal out? I am about to do a swap to a JDM and plan on doing some minor port and polish, should I stick to a low port?

With S3's, low ports consistantly make more power. I routinely see low ports with I/H/E/ECU/S3/UDP make 147-151 whp. I have only seen one or two make less than 145 whp with that setup.

High ports with the same setup typically make between 142-145 whp. I have seen a couple make in the 146-147 range, but that is very odd. Super Freak Luis Molina's high port made 152 whp after years of abuse, but that is a freak occurance.

There isn't a lot of data on the C-series cams, but so far it looks like the high port outperforms the low port with these cams. My car actually makes a little bit more power with the C3's than Kojima's fully built motor (granted, this is only over a very small range, and Mike's car makes way more torque and has more area under the power curve). My car makes more power and torque than Naji's low port with the C3's.

We haven't really done other testing with the C3's on high ports. My car isn't really a ringer, though. With intake/header/exhaust/UDP, it only made 135 whp, so it's not like it's an unusually strong motor (or was, RIP).
