hi guys i have heard of loads of pepole blocking the water pipes of to the turbo so its just oil cooled

why is this and what bennifits does it give

i have herad of quite a few pepole doing it but i just cant understand why to be honest

i've heard of this alot when i lived in japan. i think they do it so their car runs cooler. but i would suggest in running a oil cooler ( especially if your boosting your stock turbo over the stock setting) if thats your plan.
