I've done it three times now, but all three times with the tranny out - mine never leaked, just cheap safety - easyily done.

The paggenger side is easy- the driver's side is a little tougher because of thar circular clip. Can be a pain in the you-know-what. There's a nice frozen grease trick that makes the driver's side one a lot easier though.

To replace the axle seal:
1. Drain trans fluid
2. Undo lower strut points
3. Pull out axle
4. Pull out seal
5. Tap in new seal (careful!)
Do everything else reverse of how you took it apart.

Done!

My passager axle seal was bad right after i did my ACT clutch job.

Right after i did my clutch about 2 hour later i notice i was leaking tranny fluid and i though it was just the power steering wheel fluid but i check carefully and it was leaking from the axle.

I have to drain the tranny fluid out than pop my axle off and replace the new one than add the fluid back in the tranny.

Anyone know a fast way of putting the fluid in the tranny cause it take a long time to fill up the tranny with fluid.

Thanks

Can you tap in the passenger seal with the trans in the car? I need to do this on my 91 and I don't want to drop the tranny if I don't have to.
