i have a straight 3 inch pipe from the turbo back, but this is my daily driver, so i dont always want my car to wake up the neighbors or set off car alarms or get the attention of my good friend MR. police officer so ive been looking for a solution to my prolbem and i stumbled across this

http://www.quicktimeperformance.com/QTEC/

i was curious if any of you have had any experience with this product or company. or if any one had any opinions. thanks for the input.

You have a 3in pipe with no muffler at all?? I have 3in from turbo back with a n1 muffler and isnt too bad. As long as you are good with the loud pedal.

My friend had it on his SR S13, it sounds totally badass when the flap in open, and you FEEL the power come on. Really trick piece! PLUS, their stuff and work is really clean and high quality, I've been in their shop, and I'm impressed. They're not too far from my house

someone had a right up on how to build a cut out with a 60mm throttle body. i was going to try it, and use the solenoid/servo off of the door lock to open it from the inside of the car, instead of having a manual cable to open it.

i've wanted to try this for a long time! I remember one guy's car at the track, he had an all motor honda with a manual cutout/y-pipe, and his car would suddenly scream when it hit like 5K rpm and I could see it pulling hard everytime he popped it open. everyone thought he had some crazy ass vtec.

I have the Badlands e-cut out, I think its the same thing you have to hold the switch open or closed, dont know if the qtech does that or not, it was cheaper. It is pretty loud, not as loud as just an open down pipe( I guess my stock cat back muffler and all quiet it down some even open) The 4 best reasons I can think of to get this thing
1 Its like hitting low boost again opening it at full throttle
2 the left lane bandit moves right out of the way
3 It let your cars built in deer whistle work (you can hear the turbo whir-ing ,cool)
4 It frees all the passers by of their consipation problems making the world a happier place in general ( *** it scares the sh*t out of people as you go by ;) )

this is intruiging. how does it stand in terms of inspection?

you could wire it to a summit switch, couldn't you? imagine that sh*t coming on with VE exhaust cam.

My post from this thread: http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=79893&highlight=cut

"They're the sh*t. My friend has one on his VR6 turbo. Here's a dyno of his 2.5" exhaust vs. Cut out, 25whp and 25wtq at 8psi. They do have the tendency to leak though.

I have one and it is ok, First one Quick time performance was a pile of shit and didn't work out of the box so I had to pay to ship it back to them and wait for weeks for a replacement.

I would try the badlands one as it as cheaper.

i was gonna ask about that. the y-pipe would have to be relatively compact, huh?

Is there a way to get the ATPturbo one to work on a NA car?

No doubt there would be a decent gain when compared to a restrictive muffler, but I'm wondering how much would the difference be if compared to a straight-through muffler?

In the example I provided, the exhaust is a straight through Magnaflow.

mine is pretty much just the flange welded on to the bend on the down pipe. It is entirely above the crossmember, IMO my might be oil getting heated by the exhaust

If you ask me a VR6 turbo should have a 3" exhaust in the first place.

i see. some people put them right before the muffler from what i understand, i could see that having some serious clearance issues, but right off of the downpipe would be ideal, if you were turbo. for n/a i think by the muffler would be the best place.
