Remember Pirellis motto. Power is nothing w/o control.

You want my honest opinion? Do the suspension first. Then brakes, then wheels, then motor.

Lower the car with some Eibachs and KYB AGX. Then Get Sway bars. Then get a ttrut tower bar. I much rather have a car with little power and a great suspension then lots of power and no suspension.

so you think i should do performance and not appearance? like spoiler, rims, etc?

Forget rims for now. The money you spend on good rims and tires (Not decent but good) you could get a full suspension and some decent tires. On 195 55 14's the NX will be on rails. Forget rims. Do the full suspension.
Lets see.

$399 for AGX
$200 for Eibachs (or cheaper used)
$150-180 for S/T bars...
_________
$749.00-$779.00

How much are decent rims and tires? $850+

This is experience talking. Have you seen my car? Check it out. I been there many of times. Listen to someone who knows.

And for a first brake upgrade, go with the SMC or Goodridge Steel Braided brake lines. These won't expand like a rubber brake line will and will give a better pedal feel.

Once you've gotten a good start on the suspension and brakes, then you can upgrade to the I/H/E and advanced ignition timing.

Start saving your money!

...besides a suspension upgrade is athestic and noticiable with 1 1-1.5 inch ride lowering. Makes even small wheels fill the guards better... definitely suspension!
As for brakes next... I would go I/H/E as NX brakes are good enough unless you plan on going turbo or AutoXing...

Stickers. Stickers are definately the way to go. Think about this: 1 sticker = 10% increase in rear wheel horse power! Come on, you cant beat that! :D

yeah i think suspension is the way to go first. i did it first also and i love how it makes my car look. and also the stickers are a must.:D

It really depends with what you want to accomplish with the car. If your going for looks or performance. I'm in agreement with suspension upgrade. You really can't go wrong with suspension upgrade either way you go. If your going for looks it drops the cars stance a little lower making it look "Tight!" If your going for performance it gives you great control of your car.

I'm from the old school and I will always go for performance first before looks. All show and no go just don't cut it for me.

PS loose the washer lights! :D

yeah...i've got my nx dropped 1.5" with ST springs but aestheticlly, i think a 2" drop may look better...

Santo, I think that about 90% of the people here are totally performance oriented, many of the insanely fast se-r's are totally stock on the outside....... food for thought....

IMHO (as always)

Tires

- This is widely acknowledged as the first step to take in the handling dept.

Strut Bars - front & rear

- Solid that sucker up.

Suspension

- Research this very carefully - depend only on an expert's (more than one if possible) opinion

Exhaust

- This is like a personal pay-off. It may not net you tons of hp - but the cool sound makes you feel good about your car

I'm not partial to the whole looks thing - it's better to have a sleeper that can walk away on freeway off/on ramps than something that writes cheques it can't cash

Another thing I would spend money on: training - driver's schools, autocross, rallycross, TSD, lapping - whatever turns your crank. Confidence and the ability to commit are worth more than hp.

Have fun,

Robin

ok...what's I/H/E? damn acromyns
I=Intake
H=Header
E=Exhaust

It has been my experience with ST springs that they are too soft. Eibach Pro-Kits are better.

aestheticlly, i think a 2" drop may look better...
A two inch drop might look better. But your car will handle very poorly. A two inch drop will induce a lot of bump steer on hard corners.

Also, a two inch drop will KILL your struts!
You'll give up a lot just to look cool

yeah...i had a 2" drop before and had that problem on the autox before i switched to 1.5.

i thought Eibach discontinued their line for NX's...i heard H&R did the same. at least that's what the shop told me...do you know if this is true? :confused: if not they're BASTARDS!!! lol

anyone know if there are any good coilovers for the NX?

well i think doing suspension first is a easier said than done thing, think about it you do a cai and header for about the same price as suspension and you are gonna drop your quater mile time by a lot but, its much easier said than done but if you have the patients i would do suspension first i guess, i still dont have suspension and am running a decent time, but to each his own, i guess it also depends on how much money you want to put into the car.

P/N 99996-63241 NX Spring Set
The above P/N are right out of the Nissan Motorsports Catalog.
You can use that P/N at ANY Nissan parts counter.
That's how I bought mine.

Not everybody Drag Races.
