I have this freaking problem for 2 month already. My car lose power after 6000rpm, i mean alot of power lost. The engline keep on mis-firing, i did the tune-up and that didn't help at all. i was hoping it was the fuel-pump so i replace a Walbro 255 and that was not it. I have no clue what is the problem. Anyone have this experiance. :( :( :(
Next thing is the compression test. :( :( :(
God bless my baby, i hope she is alright :( :( :(

i had a similar problem with my other car (98 gxe). it lost power above 5500rpm though. when you put a load on the motor it sounded like a really bad miss. i took it to 4 sep. dealers and they didn't have a clue. no codes showed up on the consult either. it took me 2 months to figure it out, but the cat had melted and caused a restriction in the ex. due to octane boosters i suspect. from what i heard it wont set a code untill the cat is totally dead. this might help then again it could be something else.:)

Hey you know thats funny you say that. My brother just bought an '89 Conquest TSI, and it was running shitty and hesitating. After about 2 weeks of trying to figure out what was wrong with it (new air filter, fuel filter, oil change and flush, blah blah) we found out it was because the previous owner had installed platinum spark plugs in the car, when platinums are not supposed to be used in that make and model.
Moral of the story, always start with the simplest solution to solve a problem.

It sounds like you might have a clogged cat....i had a 2nd gen rx-7 and i lost some serious power and i couldnt figure it out, until it was suggested to me that i have the cat looked at. Sure enough, the cat had broken apart inside and the air flow was being almost completely restricted causing major power loss. Its just a thought.

Im guessing the NOS did some shit to the cat Get the random technology high flow cat maybe that'll work. How are your O2 sensors

I know that there is a lot of us that feel that Fuel Injector Cleaner doesn't do shiet. But on my 95 200sx SE I was starting to have problems with the car above 4500 rpm. Car would hesitate and would take forever to accelerate. After awhile (and lots of troubleshooting) the car would not rev past about 5 grand. Finally as a last result before taking it to a mechanic I threw some NOS brand fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank and BOOM!!! Problem solved. If you haven't tried that...I'd give it a shot.
