Has anybody here ever tried to make a classic a convertable? Yeah its out there I know but if it was done well it could be pretty slick. Lay back the front window, good body work, etc...

I've seen this once at the drags. Some guy had a ruby 94 that he chopped the top off of. It wasn't finished yet, and he hadn't come up with a solution for a top. I can see how it might be kinda neat, but this was one of the most crapped out Classics I'd ever seen.

I thought he was nuts.

The sentra isn't exactly robust in frame structure, I'd imagine a convertible sentra would twist all crazy over bumps and handle like soggy toilet paper.

BTW - I remember seeing that same chopped SE-R like 2-3 years ago... it even had a roll hoop if I remember right

Ive seeen a Burgundy choptop sentra lowrider in my area. It looked ok but not my style. To each his own I guess. Plus it had custom paint and ugly little wire 13s with white walls.

I was at a show called Slam Fest here in Tampa like 2 years ago. A company that was there was selling some shirts that had there magazine name on them. As I flipped through a couple of them I came apon a lowrider Sentra that was a convertible. IT had dark burgandy paint with metalic flake in it. I never bought that mag though and I have never seen a pic of it again.
But it has been done
