I finally got my copy of SCC with the SE-R CD. Anybody want it?

anyways..................

The Test compares:
Mustang Cobra R
3,590 lbs
5.4 liter 385ho/385lb ft

vs

Lotus Elise
1,710 lbs !!!
B18C5 !!!
195hp
130lb ft

The Elise killed the Stang. I wasnt surprised. I thought the test was sweet but would have preferred a 1st Gen CRX instead of a Lotus. Any other opnions?

I like the looks but not the engine. It would be perfect if it had a sr20ve or det. Faster too.

There was more done to the B18 than what they let on. It was making way to much whp for just exhaust/intake. BS.

I would take that Elise over the Mustang anyday.

Oh, And they make a Elise esque car with a SR20. Its called a Tommykira.

The Elise in that test was exactly how Sun Motorsports sells them - yes they do make more power than stock B18C5 motors. Apparently they can't use the stock Type R manifold because it doesn't fit, so they have their own high performance header that does fit (and adds HP). And there's some other stuff too, for the same reasons. So it's not BS, Sun actually sells them that way.

And Smooth, you would NOT have preferred a CRX over an Elise. Have you finally gone off the deep end? Seriously. You're missing some bolts if you would rather have a CRX than this.

Oh no way ZAK!!! I may prefer the PS2 over rthe Gamecube but not the CRX over an Elise!! I just would have prefered a more downhome ride. The Mustang is all over the road and so is the CRX. Not too many Elise, though.
That picture you got there is NICE!!!!! OMG its nice!!

The Mustang wasnt exactly OEM either.

AS Far as i am concerned, THAT IS NOT A LOTUS ELISE IF IT HAS A HONDA ENGINE!!! they put that engine in there to make it road legal evidently. the Lotus Elise has the ROVER K Series Engine Shared with the MG F. how do i know this? because i have been in love with British cars ever since i was 7. ive read everything about them that i could. and me and my dad own a 1971 MG Midget that needs a restoration bigtime. what sucks is we dont have the money for it!!!! but that will not even be the same car withought that engine. i can prove this to you very easily. THE REAL ENGINE IN THE LOTUS ELISE IS A BRITISH ENGINE!!! NOT A HONDA PIECE OF POOP!!

brand loyalty, blah................... fast cars are cool regardless of what name is stamped on them, and a factory motor that turns 8400RPM happily is badass....... the B18C5 is cool as hell in my friends ITR, I cannot imagine it in something that weighs 1800lbs.............. if i had $50k, I'd be rollin that bitch, screw the se-r:D

I would rather have the Elise powered by a "piece-of-poop" Honda B18C5 doing solid 12's over the stock 15-sec Lotus motor anyday! The B18C5 motor is a great motor.:D

I'll race any mustang any time with my trusty rusty 1st gen rex. Any contest of seed ... or lack thereof. :p Ok, so even a 4 cylinder Mustang II could take down her mad three cylinders of oil-smoking fury, but she'll make it look good dammit!

Wow, you guys need to get out more. That anyone out there would prefer a Rover engine to a B18 amazes me. And the Elise=MR2 is really funny. Its a freaking Lotus for crying out loud!

My take on the article is that its completely irrelevant. I live in Detroit and I've only seen one Cobra R and one Lotus Elise. These cars are so rare none of us will own one and who in their right mind would be cross-shopping them? Interesting though.

screw anyone against the lotus, thats the baddest car ever, looks included! i mean im just a kid speaking from gran tourismo 3, but i DO know that the motor sport elise in that game, souped up max, is the best track car in the game. and if i ever saw one in real life i would piss out my mouth!!

Give me the stang. Ain't nothing like V8 growl. Just for the burnouts and having my boys push the rearend while I do it to keep it straight. Instand chick magnet.

I walked into the shop where I get my naaws filled the other day, and what was on the lift... A Lotus Elise. There's a guy locally who has all these bad ass exotics. I just oogled over the Lotus for about 10 minutes.. Man it was nice. It's amazing how much better things look in person. The same guy that owns this car also has a NIIIICE TVR, now that's one bad ass ride.

You mean its not a chick magnet when your boys hold your car back by the window sills and spoiler, and you do a FWD burnout.
 ;) :D

Can you do that? If it is possible I will give it a try, as long as I don't pull anyone.

HELL YEAH!!! BRO IT IS STUPID CRAZY!!
Have one boy on each side, windows down ( of course ), have two more on your spoiler. POP the hell out that clutch, bounce off the rev limiter if you have to,:) . Your car will want to take off a lil bit but it has no traction. It will swerve side to side sometimes. But your boys should be able to control it. If the car DOES GRIP, your boys just let go and you should STOP as quickly as possible.
Easy fun shit!!!
The best part is when you're ready for the best tire smokin' rubber melting trail, just give them the thumbs up and they'll let go , and just control your car while it leaves a hellified path of melted rubber............aaaahhhhhhhhh, the smell!!!!!

I know a site with a video...........let me look for it.
