Hey, gang--

I just received the final two fittings for my oil hookup, and realized that I've never really seen pics of other folks' hookups before. So, I'll share mine. Who knows...maybe it will help someone down the road. There are numerous ways to do this, and this one is my way. YMMV. I went with a 'divorced' oil pickup, which will mount the 'tee' on the firewall, by the way. Detailed captions are at the bottom of each pic:

It all starts with this leftover NOS ss line I had. On the left end, you can see the 1/8BSPT male to 1/8NPT female adapter from McMaster-Carr. This will go into the engine block where the oil pressure sender is. The line will then snake over to the firewall to meet the tee (next pic).

This is an exploded view of my 'tee' hookup. The line in the first pic comes into the tee on the left via a 3AN-to-1/8th NPT adapter. The tee is a 1/8thNPT female tee. On the right is the 1/8thNPT male-to-1/8thBSPT female adapter from McMaster-Carr. The oil pressure sender will thread into that.
On the bottom is where the oil will go to the turbo. The brass fitting is one of JGY's oil restrictor fittings (.060 diameter inside), ending in a 1/4" hose barb. A very short piece of 1/4" hose will connect that to another 1/4" hose barb (the blue fitting), with a 1/8thNPT thread on the end of it . A 1/8thNPT-to-3AN male adapter threads into that. The ss line carrying oil to the turbo then attaches there via 3AN female fitting.

And here's what it all looks like when put together. I'm only missing the very short piece of 1/4" hose between the two barb fittings on the bottom, that go to the turbo.

Just thought I'd share. God knows I could've used some pics like this when I began this process. :D

Terrin--

All told, I've got about $100 in all my lines/fittings/misc crap. I have braided stainless line going to the turbo, and am using Earl's SuperStock hose (and fittings) for the water hookups.

The majority of the lines/fittings came from www.ANplumbing.com .

A few came from www.McMaster.com and from our guy, www.JGYcustoms.com

Greg,
So this set up should be pretty much universal right, depending on the connection at the turbo(T25/T28/T3T4)?
Thanks for putting this up, I was going to start looking for sizes very soon. You saved me some time!
Thanks,
Chris:D

Chris--

I would *imagine* that this setup would work on just about any turbo out there. I know it will work on the T25 and T28 turbos.

Only one side of this actually goes to the turbocharger. You might have different sized/shaped fittings on another turbo, but that solution is just an adapter fitting away. The Earl's catalog has just about ANY conversion fitting your heart could desire.

Greg,

Thanks for the info! Resources like this will certainly helps those who seeks to turbo in the future...... like me :)

My question is how do you locate where the oil pressure sender is on your engine for tapping?

Does anyone have this kind of information for a water line connection? TIA.

The reason I ask is, my tee fitting that was installed on my car broke off. :( If you don't feel like posting them up on the forum again could you please email them to me at Isiongco@aol.com. Thanks!

I believe greg has jumped wesites since then. He may still have them though. If you just need a 1/8th NPT Tee then ANplumbing.com has one. I'll look for my part number.....

Hit www.turbochargedse-r.com and you'll find those pics once again. Click on my 'The Great Turbo Install of 2002' link, at the bottom of the index page. Should be on day 2 or 3. :)

This thread lives on and on and on...
