Hey everyone. I'm having some trouble getting my CAI put in. I really dont want to take it to a shop just to get a CAI put in. Can anyone give me some directions or a site that will help me out a little?? I know im going to have to cut a hole so it will fit, but for now i was just going to set it up as a warm air setup so i didn't have to worry about that. Also am i going to have to relocate the battery?? --- and i know i know i should have searched the forum but that function has been disabled for now and i wanted to get it put in this weekend. Any info is apreciated--- thanks.

I guess u got this used *** Place Racing sent me instructions on how to do it when i ordered it. anyway, they say to use a air saw or equilvent tool (dremel) to make the hole. A fellow SE-R guy who helped me put it on had a special tool he made to make the hole so it was ten times easier then using a dremel. u don't have to relocate the battery but you will have to disconnect it and move it a bit so you can have room to make the hole. total time it took to install it was about an hour and half; some areas on my SE-R/Intake were a bitch (hard to get off or try to line up certain things with where their supposed to go) but we eventually did it.

go to this webpage, they have the same directions (w/ pics) that Place Racing sent me -

GOOD LUCK!!:)

This is my first car, so I've never really had the chance to mod a car before, except helping my friend with his Integra. Is a CAI really that hard to install for our car? The idea of drilling into the intake is sort of a turnoff. Is the Place Racing CAI one piece or multiple pieces? I'm not sure if anyone knows about these, but what about the Stillen and HotShot ones? The Stillen one is rather new I think because I just saw it for the first time in a sport compact car magazine. Thanks for any info!

Use pliers and pull back the hole already made there for the air horn.

ok i got it in today. It wasn't too bad, but it turned out being harder than i imagined. It seemed like every screw was either rusted or stripped,, and the maf adapter had the holes drilled in the wrong place so i had to redrill them. I also broke like 3 of the little plastic things that hold the splash gaurd in the fender well on. Enlarging the hole in the fender wasn't too bad though, and i was able to find a rubber hose to put around the outside of the hole to make it smooth. I had to set it up as a warm air setup for now though because my battery is too big. When i was looking at the pic from that site it looked like they just slid the battery over to the left side of the tray, but my battery takes up the whole tray. Soooo any ideas??? maybe buy a smaller battery? Well anyway hearing that sound once it was all put together made up for everything that went wrong... :D
