If yall did not read the other post I was helping my friend install a 98 RWD DET into a 95 240sx. It drove awesom the first night then would not drive for crap after that. Everytime you got into boost it would fall on its face. PITA... We checked all the wiring 100Xover but never worked...
Well We finally figured out the problem.... and you would not of guessed it. I told the owner to check the fuel pump and make sure that the outlet line was tight and the new pump was installed correctly, (I wasnt there during the install)
Well he called me and asked what would happen if the strainer would fall off the fuel pump.. I told him crap could get into the fuel lines and clog the pump, lines, or filter.. He then asked what if a latex glove was sucked into the fuel pump... I advised him that that was not good :D He removed the glove, re installed the strainer and started it up. Drove it and boost!!!!!
I was laughing my ass off when I heard that though. There is something odd though.
The plugs looked fine, no signs of detonation, and they were nice and brown, no white on them. Before the glove was removed the car was boosting at .75 bar with no boost controller. Now it is at .4 (where it was suppose to be) Any idea on this. Spoolup seems a little slower also..
Yall have any idea why the boost is different??
Danny
BTW He will not hear the end of this. :D
