RA1s seem to be on backorder everywhere. I really need tires (mine are almost gone -- and I own Dono a pair).

Anyone have any leads??

Try here. It is up here in Canada, but the prices are good, and they ship.

The first page has an online tire finder:

I was at Buttonwillow this weekend and they did not have any 225/45/15. The guy at the tire shop told me that his boss only special orders them due to lack of demand.

I have a set of 14x7 wheels with me and I got 225/50/14 instead. They had plenty of those. If you run the willwood you cannot use 14 rims.

I am glad I kept the set of 14s, they sure came in handy this weekend.

Don't all the HC guys and Wreck Pinatas use that size?

I picked up a set of rains (AFTER the CA Speedway hurricane) from Vilven two weeks ago. Did you try them Rockwood?

Yes, the H4 cars use the same size.

The latest I have heard is that they are on back order for another 1-4 weeks.

Call them up though to see if they have them. They are on the east coast. I picked up some 205/50/15s from them recently. I didn't ask about 225/45

Thanks -- they have a very good price on the tires. But they are also out. They said the tires are on a boat to the US -- but would take another 4 weeks or so to be distributed to the warehouses. This sucks.

So will a 225/50 work, or will we run into clearance issues?

On the front i've run both already on my car. The only clearance issues you my run into can be easily overcome by moving the ride height up by 1/2" or so... And that's only if there are fitment issues.

They do also change the gear ratio in a bad way....

there is a huge difference in overall diameter between 45 and 50 series.

I orderred mine 2 weeks ago and they came in 2 days, but I'm in Canada.

both statements true, but better than 205 if you can't get any 225/45's...
