Since I changed my cap and rotor and plugs my car feels SOTP slower. Anyone else notice that? These are All Nissan Parts + The new NGK platinums. Or is it my imagination?

Its your imagination.

I had a great feeling after my OEM tune-up.
I used the copper plugs.

What did you gap the platinums to?

The NGK plats are pre-gapped from Nissan.

I was thinking that the gap may be off too for some dumb reason too. I am going to check the gap tomorrow.

I know you didn't move the distributor, just changed the cap and rotor, but it would never hurt to check the ignition timing I guess...

True, the nissan plugs are pregapped from the factory, but when i put my new copper ngk's in, my car felt like it was running out of breath up above 5k rpms....i then gapped the plugs to .43 and it ran perfectly after that. I would check the plug gappage if i were you.

Id bet the over all problem was being masked by old parts. check your tb and clean it....then the maf ground, then the tps ....those could now be showing up with new parts in the car.

i just did the same thing and put in the platinums (caps and rotor) it feels just like it used to. Im pretty sure they come pre-gapped but... maybe you should check that.

Mine runs like it did so it also could be your imagination;)

You should always check the gap. I can't count the number of times that I've had plugs that were "pre-gapped" wrong.

Michael.

No, all that is done. TPS is set. I checked a days ago. MAF reground, ditto. The car was pulling stronger. I checked the gap and they were within specs (.041") but I gapped it on the high side of the specs (.044") and it feels better. It could just be the new parts. I get that feeling whenever I change my oil too. To me when the oil circulates a few hundred miles it loosens up. I just know what I felt. That shit used to pull like a freight train even with a slipping clutch.
