: Tires
LikeTheMovies 05-11-2006, 08:44 AM I've heard that people go with 205/50's on the stock se-r rims so i was wondering if its bad or not becuase the stock size is 195/55 on the stockers if anyone has any info let me know im ordering tires soon and if its better to go with the 205 im going to...
dmp316 05-11-2006, 08:47 AM i have had no problems with 205/50/15. i have on my car right now 205/60/15. but i am changing them back to 205/50/15. 205/50/15 is just a wider tire and it makes the car feel and drive much better
LikeTheMovies 05-11-2006, 08:55 AM alrigth thanks...i think im gonna go with those then
XxToKeSxX 05-11-2006, 09:05 AM I had 195/50/15's on mine when I bought it, and they actually looked better, it made the rims look bigger, I went with 195/55/15's and was VERY unhappy... They looked like truck tires... so I switched to some 205/50's and have been happy ever since.
Wider Tired and Thinner Sidewall = Good
LikeTheMovies 05-11-2006, 11:19 AM yeah sounds good

The width of 205/50 and 205/60 is the same it's the profile that's different (taller sidewalls), the 60 is a taller tire. The ride quality "should be" better with a bigger profile but responsiveness and looks suffer (more flex in the sidewall and they look more like something belonging on a truck or mid-size sedan).

I've had both 205/50 and 195/55 tires on my 200sx and the only complaint I can say is that it throws off the speedo just a little. Below 55mph it was roughly 3 mph off, above 55mph it was closer to 5 mph off due to the size of the tire being different than what the speedo was calibrated for. Otherwise it was fine.
LikeTheMovies 05-11-2006, 12:33 PM i see.....so do the 205/50's feel better and handle better then the 195/55's ???

LBCStudios 05-11-2006, 07:48 PM def. go with 205/50/15.. i had the 195s on and switched to 205.. but then again.. that was going from a snow tires to yokohoma es 100.. so i guess my opinion wouldnt count

97pocketrocket 05-12-2006, 09:13 AM Being in Ohio you'll probably want to get the all seasons over the wet/dry only tires unless you want to risk the need to change out the tires in winter.
LikeTheMovies 05-12-2006, 09:17 AM im gonna get some cheap rims or stealies for winter and just get winter tires

My 205/50s. The size is slightly wider than stock, and a little bit smaller overall. I love them.
LBCStudios 05-12-2006, 03:59 PM if you are going to have snow tires.. then why get all season tires and snow tires... why not buy some nice summer tires for all the non snowy months?
if you DO want to get summer tires, look at falken and yokohoma and toyo!
