i am told that the VE head gasket is thiner than the DE head gasket and that my car would yield higher compresion with it

is this true?
im aware that a part of the gasket will stick out from the block but besides this will it work??

i'm gonna put SR16 pistons in it, and was told that maybe with the VE head gasket it would yield 12:1 instead of 11.6:1

i doubt it would be that much, but maybe 11.7-.8

call cometic and get a thinner DE gasket

What octane do you have man? Since most people resurface teh block and head when rebuilding, did u?, I would go with a thicker headgasket so you dont need adjustable gears to restore cam timing. If you got the money, thinner hg and adj gears would b cool

Get a Cometic gasket for what you want...

the VE gasket is .43"

get a .40" cometic gasket and it will be fine.

or stick to OEM and when you resurface the head it can go down a bit and will give you a good and still streetable compression.
