Bearing spun. I'm going to swap now. We need to talk seriously about this.

Here's my plans as of now, including estimated cost.

SR20VE Swap from Dre== $1800 SHIPPED
2001 SE Clutch + JWT PP from MossyPerf == $350 + shipping (estimate $20)
Greddy MSS == $175 SHIPPED
Prothane Motor Mounts == $55 + shipping (estimate $10)
Calum Daughterboard + Setzer Tune == $250 SHIPPED
2.5" VRS Exhaust System == $400 SHIPPED
JWT Pop Charger == en route to my house :D

Total: $3060

Let me know if this is cutting too many corners:

SR20VE Swap from Soko == $1800 SHIPPED
Greddy MSS == $175 SHIPPED
Calum Daughterboard + Setzer Tune == $250 SHIPPED
JWT Pop Charger == en route to my house :D

Total: $2225 for the time being.. while I source parts over time.

im guessing you'll be using the stock exhaust manifold?

i wouldnt go with the summit switches either, for the price, u can get the MSS or just get the MSD's

Stock exhaust manifold, but I'm told you can port match with a dremel...

I wouldn't mind picking up an SSAC if they are a lot better... but I doubt that they are.

MSS it is. Fixed.

Yeah you can get an MSD switch for $54 and some used pills for about $10. Don't worry about the clutch and exhaust for now if you are really on a budget. You can also use your stock de ecu, maf, and injectors to save money for the time being.

What header are you going to use? You can port out a de header while you save for a fuji, gen6 or custom unit. I wouldn't use a factory de manifold though as that would really hold you back.

You'll be there all day mathcing a stock de manifold to a ve. Plus you'll spend half the price of the SSAC on dremmel attachments.

You'd be better off paying to modify the stock pipe to meet the VE maniifold. Again you would pay a lot of money that could get you an ssac header, or get used header even cheaper.

it took me a while to port match the manifold but it wasnt that bad..i had to go out and buy a new dremel. Taiden, you can use everything off the DE, meaning manifold, ecu, maf, injectors etc without maxing anything out..however, dont expect big power from it..also, dont upgrade anything until you have better management..

Okay dokay...

When you buy a VE from Soko... doesn't it come with injectors and fuel rail?

I'd have to match the program though.. so what you guys are saying is taking the fuel rail from my DE and using my DE ecu?

yea all motors come with fuel rail and injectors..most of the times the fuel rails are kinda beat up, so watch out for that..change the stock 333's on the ve for the 259's and u'll be fine

I'd still rather spend even $50, (not buy a new dremel) and port match a pacesetter or old stillen header. Whatever crops up in the classifieds.

I got the Calum ECU shipped to my door for $160 so there's another hundred bucks to spend on hose adapters, electrical tape and whatnot.

yea, but when youre strapped for cash, 50$ goes a long way :)

also, there havent been any headers out for sale for the sr20(good ones) so whats the point of buying an older generation header just to get you by..the old generation headers still choke the ve.

You might want to just buy the bend from VRS and not buy the whole kit. It's a hit or miss. just get the bends and take it to a local muffler shop and it should come out to the same price and it will fit a whole lot better.

This just in. I managed to get $3000.

VE swap here I come. Help me out guys, I need to know what would make the most reliable setup with $3000 including shipping. (I have $500 wiggle room for random things, the $3000 is on the parts alone.)

Strangely enough, one of the reasons I got the money is because someone sponcered me because the swap would be a good "learning experience."

So basically I have to swap.

It's a little more complicated than that... I hope this doesn't turn into jealousy... Because I need your guys' help with this.

So I got $3000, right now I'm looking at just doing it right to get it running reliably.

Motor from Andreas - Estimating $1500 + $300 shipping
2000 Clutch from a friend - about $100 shipped
Greddy MSS - $175 shipped
Calum Daughterboard with VE tune - $250 (dont ask, it's $250 hehe)

That's: $2350

Does andreas usually include Sr20VE exhaust header?

Okay, I just talked to Dre.. and here are my ideas currently... Gonna run them over with him again later. Let me know what you think.

SR20VE from Dre: $1800 SHIPPED
SE Clutch kit: $150 SHIPPED
JGY 8.8 lb flywheel: $300 SHIPPED
Calum Daughterboard + Tuned ROM: $250 SHIPPED
Greddy MSS: $175

Total: $2675

How would you guys rate the JGY flywheel for an sr20ve setup?

JGY flywheel???? you mean the Fadanza flywheel? I installed one with my motor and I love it.
