are these times any good? I had crazy wheel hop so i had to let off the gas the mash it again. Im thinking i should have ran a 14.2 - 14.5.
daveracer 05-22-2006, 10:27 AM That trap is real low.
immoble 05-22-2006, 11:05 AM That's about as good as you can do with that trap. Don't plan on seeing low 14's with a 93mph trap. Never the less, good driving because you are maximizing your power output, so yeah those times are good.
Honestly, turn the boost up a bit lol and have some fun with it. MBC are cheap and do the trick as long as you aren't doing anything to crazy.
themonster4door 05-22-2006, 02:20 PM would the wheel hop have anything to do with it? When i launched i had insane wheel hop so i let off the gas then hit it again that maybe y my mph is so low. What should a stock bluebird run anyway?
kleensleeper 05-22-2006, 03:39 PM Your trap speed seems really low.
themonster4door 05-22-2006, 04:05 PM what would cause low trap speeds?
coryb13ser 05-22-2006, 05:42 PM what would cause low trap speeds?
trapspeed is an indication of your horse power. have you dynod your car, i wouldnt think its making any more then 170whp with that low of a trap.
you have any more details of your set up?
tHe iLleSt RiCe 05-22-2006, 05:55 PM Stock U12, Stock boost, 2.5 downpipe and exhaust, DE Ecu w/ SAFC. Man this is starting to get expensive
im gonna guess you still have the top mount setup..which SUCKS
also, youre running a de ecu with an safc which im guessing is not tuned.
there are a lot of other things that can affect your trap speed.
however, a trap speed can tell you more about how strong your car is as opposed to the 1/4 time

i made 183.1 whp and 182.1 wtq at stock boost im thinking because of the tmic was hot i was making less power. I think with a fmic at stock boost i should run at least a 14.1-13.9 i mean i can drive the car i dont thats really the issue.

The safc is tuned. im getting 300+ mpg no idle issues no nothing i think my only issue is the tmic.
tHe iLleSt RiCe 05-22-2006, 06:33 PM put it this way..the u12 ecu sucks in terms of performance, and its "tuned" for a det, the de ecu is much worse, youre not getting all the power that you should be making.
spdracerUT 05-22-2006, 07:42 PM the car should be trapping around 100 mph at stock boost... TMIC is certainly not helping.
t bags 05-22-2006, 08:55 PM ive seen guys run 12.9 with a tmic
themonster4door 05-22-2006, 09:49 PM hmm i think i know the cluprit.....when me and joel(slow96r) put my car in timing mode we noticed that the ecu backed all the timing out. when we unplugged the tps the timing was about 15-17 degrees once we plugged it back in it when back to almost 5 degrees timing. Im thing it could be my knock sensor going bad and its backing all the timing out thats y the car feels slow up top.
tHe iLleSt RiCe 05-22-2006, 09:54 PM youre supposed to check the timing with the TPS off
blairellis 05-22-2006, 09:55 PM Can you list your mods for us? I see some listed in the sig, I just want to be sure of everything you have.
I would think your car should be trapping much closer to 100mph.
Just as a reference point to go by, I put down 195 to the wheels on a Mustang Dyno (approx 205-210 dynojet) with no exhaust, but I did have an emanage which controls timing whereas the SAFC does not if I remember right. Then again I had a 9.5:1 as well.
BTW, do you have a dyno plot of your run? Did it come with a A/F ratio?
Also, what are your tires set at PSI wise, and are you dragging on the 17's?
t bags 05-22-2006, 10:26 PM do u have upgraded mounts?worn struts?
themonster4door 05-22-2006, 10:58 PM youre supposed to check the timing with the TPS off
i did when the tps was off the timing was bout 15-17 degrees when we plugged it back in the timing backed all the way out.

I trapped 110 with a TMIC. It's not THAT bad.
