Has anyone dynoed with the intake solenoid disconnected? Then with both connected to see the gain in power? Reason I ask, I disconnected the exhaust solenoid, and the car doesnt feel much, if any slower than before, but there's hell of a lot less noise, so I was wondering if anyone's tried that.
I've dynoed with both solenoids disconnected just to try it out, and the difference was 70hp. 127hp with no vvl, 197 on the vvl.

interesting , you would think the HP without vvl would be a littlehigher then 127

On the sr16 cams, the small side of the lobes are smaller than stock sr20de lobes.

Mine on the without VVL engaging was 154whp and 189whp with VVL engaging.
That was on N1 cams and 2.25in exhaust. I have not dyno my car recently, I do have more stuff and some stuff sitting under my bed. Just waiting on one last piece before putting it all on at one time.

127whp on small lobes sounds about right.
I've done quite a few dyno runs with my cam switching all over the place, it makes a difference (obviously). torque really starts dropping at 4900rpm on my setup on low lobes, 5500rpm with just the intake, and if I'm switching only exhaust it makes almost no difference (but noisier, oddly enough) over both sides on small lobes.
But then, my motor makes no power anyway. The dyno hates my car (though I have no lightening and can hang with a good running S13 SR20DET making 210whp)

Serban has eye sight problems he though that 197 was 197 but it really was 147. The 4 just looks like a 9. :D
