yeah, it may not be a bad idea, if you have the money to get a daily driver, alot of the turbo boost cars use them as DD, but I have a Toyota truck I drive as a DD, and drive my turbo 200se-r when I want to raise some hell, atleast you have something to drive when your hot rod breakes, or you want to mod it some more. :)

My DET powered classic is my winter beater daily ride :) Speaking of that its starting to get nice out. I should have the flexpipe fixed on the NX so I can wake her up from winter hibernation :)

My Turbo 200sx Se-R is my only car, and it is not only daily driven, but daily beaten. Between 3 jobs and school, and I am constantly driving. I have had the F-MAX kit for almost a year now, and have put at least 15K miles on it already. It was driven to AZ for the Convention, Willow Springs for some road racing, a couple of drag strip passes, plus daily freeway onramps at full boost.
The car kicks ass, I am not worried about blowing up the motor, because I leave it @ 10 psi every day. The car has only seen high boost levels on the dyno, and at the drag strip, and the plugs were still nice and rich.
The only thing I worry about breaking is the tranny of course, but I have a spare transmission, axles, even a spare motor in my garage! So if anything were to break, I should be able to have the car back on the road within 1-4 days without any problems. The tranny was cryo-treated and mil spec shotpeened, so I'll let you guys know when it does finally go (knock on wood).

although my car was just recently turbo'd (last tuesday) i am confident enough in its reliability that i would not hesitate to drive it for an extended road trip. i daily drive my car about 20K+ miles a year.

xTurbo Classicx I think we have swapped emails before, but I have over 25,000 miles on my DET in just one year. It's running better than ever, although my turbo could go at any time. Planning on a T28 in a couple of months.

I'm in the process of turboing my 97 200, but at the moment have no plans to use it as my DD, especially due to the AZ heat... But then again, I do have a Civic for a DD... (maybe i should rethink about the 200...)

If it ran year round it would be. Hahaha. Last year towards winter I broke the trans and decided to garage it until this spring. This year I will more than likely Drive it through the winter.

My 200 is my only car and I put 20K miles on it last year, several drag strip passes, 8 hour road trips once a month, and plenty of daily abuse. I have had my F-max kit for almost 1 1/2 years.

Well I wouldn't say I dirve it every day becasue I drive my work truck around all day. But I use it 3-4 a week and when I do I beat on it. I mean I drive it hard, but I am not a dumbass in it.

I haven't driven mine in 10 mos becuase my tranny went out and I just deceided to upgrade a bunch of other things also. (So it took me a while to save the $$$$) :)

2nd Daily Driven 200...only reason the first one isn't around is because of a accident. Its hard to leave this bad boy in the garage!

Damn, someone revived this thread from a couple years back...

Anyways, my DET used to be my DD, now it is not anymore. Now that I have her running well, I take her out for a spin a few times a week. I've had my DET for over 2 years and I've put nearly 30k miles on it.
